Nikki Mantel

Chapter One

I look around the room Reggie had put together with me. It was chic in style and was full of grey, whites, and pinks.

I sigh as I look at myself in the mirror. A black loose slip dress, a grey tight crop top, black thigh highs, and black heeled booties.

You could faintly see the bottom of my tattoo on my ribcage. It was a heart with a crown on top of it. The crown is my branding in hey I'm a King.

The Kings are a gang run by the Gunner Clan. My ex Kyle was the prince. I joined because I thought it would make him happy if I did which it did for a little while until it wasn't enough and he wanted me to do things for the gang. Mostly seducing people to keep them in check and have others fall into line with the Kings. And that soon turned to other things and I have a permanent record because I wanted to be with a boy so badly. My parents made sure to keep me out of jail and soon they were ruling the jail.

That was until I was there when Kyle killed the leader of a rival gang and I was there. I didn't do anything illegal but I was still there.

After that happened my dad sent me to live with my cousin Reggie that i hadn't seen since I was five.

'Wanna get a burger?' Reggie asks and I nod and follow him to his car.

We jam out to music goofingly as we pull up to a retro dinner.

We walk in and Reggie orders for us and we sit as he tells me everything about over one in the dinner.

I lock eyes with a tall boy with black hair with a serpent tattoo on his neck. I look at the group of people he's with and see a tan girl with brown and pink hair. Reggie looks over his shoulder and turns back frowning at me.

'You don't wanna be inloved in then Nikki.' Reggie says as the Raven haired boy breaks our eye contact and I frown internally and look at Reggie.

'Hmm?' I question my cousin as I drink my vanilla milkshake.

'I don't know why exactly your here but trust me you don't wanna be around him. He's apart of a gang that causes nothing but trouble for Riverdale.' Reggie says seriously and I look at my cousin.

'I can take care of myself dearie.' I say smiling at Reggie and his forhead crinckles.

Reggie really doesn't know... I make eye contact with the boy again and raise an eyebrow at him.

'The Serpents are bad news Nikki. They are the reason for drugs getting on the Northside, for drag races, for practically anything.' Reggie warns me one again and I think back to what my friends had warned me about Kyle before I had got involved with the boy.

'I'll be careful Reggie.' I say smiling at my cousin and I break eye contact with the boy and eat the burger infrount of me.

I sketch the scene I had saw at Pops. The faintness of Reggie's jacket as you see a group of young people all dressed the same in dark clothing. I got the small details of each of them correct as I sketch the sight that had me in a trance. They seemed so much closer to each other than the Kings did. The Kings never went out to eat just to eat together if we did go out together we went to a Kings owned bar and would strictly talk about business.

My finger absentmindedly rubs the Kings tattoo on my side. Reggie had told me stories of the Southside Serpents and how they were family and even though they where capable of handeling themselves if you messed with one you had a death wish.

'Nikki wanna go to a party they're having before school starts? It's at the cooley.' Reggie says leaning against my door frame and I nod at him and he leaves to go change I'm assuming.

I open up my closet and grab a black buistier, a high waisted maroon leather skirt,y fitted black leather jacket, a pair of black fishnets, and my black spiked boots. I walk over to my vanity and do a dark smokey eye and a dark red lip. I put in my hoops and put on a gold small chain choker.

I meet Reggie up outside and we drive to the cooley.

I met alot of Reggie's friends and some other people. I sit on a piece of drift wood and swirl around the beer in my red cup. I look up and lock eyes with the guy from the diner. Reggie never said what his name was tho. He's leaning against a motorcycle and talking to the other teens who were with him. I stray from the group and wander off hoping the stranger would follow me.

Something draws me to him I don't know what it is tho. I kick a peable and look up at the sunrise.

I sense someone's presence and I smirk.

'Pretty isn't it?' I call out and I hear a grumble in return.

I turn around to see the stranger from the diner. He is truly beautiful as I get a better look at him. He has defined facal features, messy black hair, dark "edgy" clothing and his serpent tattoo on his neck.

'Whats your name?' I ask him as he comes closer to me and I start breath heavy.

'Whats yours?' He counters as he is mere inches away from my face. He smirks as he sees the effect he has over me.

'Nikki.' I say trying to seem confident.

He smirks at my answer and slightly brushes his lips against mine.

'NIKKI?!' I hear Reggie yell my name from a distance and I pull away from the boy in shock.

He smirks and grabs my arm writing something on it before walking off.

'I never got your name!' I yell at the stranger.

'Go there tonight and I'll tell you.' He says turning around and smirking at me and I chew on my bottom lip.

'Nikki here you are. I didn't know where you were.' Reggie says coming over to me and I smile at him.

'I'm fine Reggie just wanted to get some air.' I lie to my cousin and smile at him.

We walk back and I see the stranger had left and I see a girl raise an eyebrow at me and I slightly nod to the girl who was with the stranger. She pulls out her phone and sends a text before she leaves as well.

Maybe Riverdale won't be so bad after all...

'Yo Bulldogs!' Reggie yells out as he gets a text message. 'Archies dad got shot!'

I raise an eyebrow as the Bulldogs and friends scatter and race to they're cars. Reggie pulls me to the car and he speeds off.

On our way there Reggie fills me in about who Archie is. He was supposed to be captian but he passed it up to focus on his music. Apparently him and his friends solved a murder.

So Riverdale isn't as innocent as it seems.

This takes place in season two and I would assume that's what the Bulldogs and Co would be doing before they got news of Fred's attack.
