Marina leaped off the cliff. She gathered speed, nearing the crashing water and rocks below before spreading her wings wide and getting smashed by g-forces. A hiss rose through her throat as she reveled in the adrenaline rush that came with the dive.
"Marina!" barked a gruff voice.
Marina quickly looked around, swiveling her neck to see around her. Nothing was behind her, so where was he? Marina swept her eyes around, when suddenly, a golden dragon slammed into Marina's back, knocking them both into the water. The golden dragon gave Marina a toothy grin before pawing up towards the surface, which, thanks to the high velocity of the dragon's dive, sent them both into quite a few of yards. Marina smiled as well, a spark in her eye, as she used her webbed tail to help her swim. Not all dragons had webbed tails, but she was classified a marine dragon, something her name reflected as well. The two dragons in love smiled dreamily at each other as they surfaced.
"Oh Ecru! I love you so much!"
"Marina, let's fly back to the cliff and watch the clouds go by!"
The sapphire blue dragon shook her head. "No, let's fly with the clouds!"
The two smiled and, jumping out of the water, flapped their wings and glided for a little while, letting the wings dry more before turning up and soaring higher into the sky. They glided through the low clouds, occasionally whipping the vapor with their wing flaps. The two dragons played the whole day before landing at a clear area between the cliff edge and a forest nearby. Ecru went to the forest and ripped out a tree while Marina planted a seed to replace the tree they'd taken. Then they carried the tree back to the spot they'd chosen and began snapping the tree apart. After sweeping the bits of the tree together in one pile, Ecru blasted the tree chunks with a concentrated stream of flame. Marina circled the fire to make sure none escaped. The two sat around the fire until it eventually died down. Then, the two crawled onto the glowering embers and curled up on the bed of heat to go to sleep. From the forest, glowing eyes watched the two dragons before disappearing into the freezing night.
