Sometimes the concept of war scares me more than death. I wonder when did the stubbornness and yelling turned into sharp knifes and manic eyes. Yesterday you talked about a brighter tomorrow and today I'm choking at my own blood with your spear piercing my lungs.

The first month of living in a Rhodia had been a disaster, to say the very least. Adrianne couldn't even be sure if it was really a month since time there moved both faster and slower. It had certainly been a Rhodian month which started once the Faeries Constellation was formed and ended with North's third star entering the atmosphere. If she wasn't mistaken, Rhodia and Earth had the same age system so she must have been there for an actual month.

She really couldn't wait to leave.

"I don't understand this game."

"No wonder you're awful at it." Lecter mumbled more to himself than her and scratched the top of his humanoid head. His eyes lighted up as he decided which was his next movement. He picked up a silver little figurine and moved it towards Adrianne."Kotaess!"

"I'm not even going to pretend that I understood this."

"You lost again."

"Trust me, I got that."she whispered with irritation. Lecter continued smiling, proud at his winning, after a few seconds Adrianne smiled back. The boy, alien, whatever he could be defined as was perhaps the only Rhodian she actually liked. Mainly because he was the only one who seemed to care about her-unlike the queen who would have the Mesos' head in a spike if she could. Lecter, even if he was just a little kid, was the only one who had tried to make her feel at ease. He tried to learn to speak in her language, tried to help her fit in and treated her with respect. She liked that-it made her feel at home.

"I had an idea."

"I'm not doing anything illegal."

"Not that."he argued"Mother wants me to find a servant."

"Am I being replaced?"Adrianne half-joked. She hoped she wasn't. If the queen didn't want her around her son anymore, she would lose the only person she could talk to in this planet. Sure, she could always try reaching out James-after all, he had given her a dark mirror-but she couldn't bug him too much.

"You aren't a servant. You're my friend."Lecter stated offended that she would even think of that."Every prince around my age ought to have a personal servant, an adviser if that sounds better for you."honestly no, that did not make her feel much better."I want a Quill."

"That sounded like you just wanted a dog?"

"A what?"

"Oh poor thing."

"What I mean is that I'll be putting a Quill in a high position. Give them-how do you say it-the right to decide."

"Power." Adrianne concluded"Give a Quill power and hope that the others won't turn against on of their own. Thus, the small rebellious outbreaks they have will stop." Lecter nodded happily. Adrianne just chuckled and went to sit by his side."This is madness."
