Atticus took in his surroundings.

Dark room, low ceilings, stacked cages. This was it, this was their storing unit, unfortunately the criminals had gotten away, and they took their 'imported goods' with them.

"Disgusting." One of the men behind the Atticus said as he turned away from the horrific scene.

"How could this have happened" the second investigator asked as he rubbed his temple in frustration.

The Walls were dark but you could faintly see the outline of blood scatters. The smell was foul, cages were worn, there were whips hanging around, and weapons lying out. the boss, Atticus was certainly uneasy, but this was not his first rodeo.

No, This was certainly not Atticus's first case, but it was quite gruesome.. The government had been after them for awhile, the reason Atticus knew this was 'them' again was because of those cages..

Atticus knew these cases were tied to the case, key evidence, silver cages, worn out and looked as if a rabid bear had been stored in inside. Underneath was always a symbol that looked like a capital V enclosed in a circle. This was a whole organization...

Atty suspected they had intercepted a call to their office, a local took a wrong turn and called in reporting a suspicious looking shed with a foul odor emitting from within. Having left so quickly after the call points to professionals working among the villains.

Victims were always inside a cage or looked as if they had been dragged out a few feet away. Today's most important victim was a woman about 5'8 lying on a silver table, same type used in morgues. She had a lower stomach cut with precision that looked almost professional. A labor wound.

Atticus sighed and turned to Garrett, poor fella couldn't even hold his camera straight. Ben was in the same state. Although his face showed no signs of being bothered, Atticus had seen the slight shift of his body weight from one side to the other, and his unsteady gaze that carefully analyzed his surroundings.

"Let's get to work."

Atticus went to work hastily, taking note of his surroundings, analyzing the body. Atticus and Ben collected the evidence inside ziplock bags. While Garret took snapshots of the crime scene.

Currently inside the secluded warehouse were only the two investors and their Autopsy technician. Outside was police tape surrounding the whole building, there was no need for police to hang around since it was such a secluded area.

But, there were a couple of FBI cars parked outside watching out.

Atticus was a top investigator, best in the state, he had taken Ben under his wing as an understudy. The young 25 year old showing great promise.

Being the best of the state, it was only natural that Atty had connections, he was the only one called on top cases, top secret that is...

Atticus understood that this case was, unique, but he didn't understand why the government had to check in on it every once in a while. Nevertheless he did his job, and they did theirs.
