Chapter 1

The day was long and consisted of collecting evidence and taking multiple pictures.

Nearing noon Garrett and Ben were worn out Bens crew had taken the body and he was going to have an even longer night examining the body.

Atticus sighed and slightly smiled at his partner "Garrett I think it's time to call it a day" Garrett wiped his nose and nodded.

By this time most the cops outside had left and Ben just took off in his car and Garrett was saying his goodbyes.

"I'll see you in the morning Atty" Garrett smiled softly. Atticus patted Garrett on the back "sorry you had to witness this for your first field day" Atty smiled and waved Garrett goodbye.

Atty only had a few more documents to pack in his car, as he walked out of the shed he heard a whimper coming from the dense trees surrounding the building.

Atticus slowly approached the whimpering, as he neared he found a young wolf covered in blood the wolf froze as he saw Atticus.

First person pov

I did it, finally I was out of that horrid place, I knew something was wrong the instant they began evacuating us with all that ruckus they left my cage open hoping to collect me later, but no wound was going to stop me from freedom.

My neck and wrist ached and by the time they noticed I was gone they had left with my friends on those big trucks.

I was only able to make it till the edge of the forest under some bushes where I collapsed until late evening.

When I woke police cars we're leaving and an hour later my body flooded with relief, and... pain. I whimpered as I struggled to clean my wounds, too preoccupied to notice the human until too late.

I lay still as I looked at him and his eyes were directly on me. My heart twitched, I can't trust anyone...
