Jury

I wake up an hour late the next morning and find that Ashton is nowhere to be seen in the bedroom. I sluggishly get out of bed and get ready before going downstairs to my doom. I find Ashton alone reading something on his iPad and no Isabella Parker insight.

"Morning Mr Parker" I say enthusiastically and kissing him.

"Morning soon to be Mrs Parker, I think I deserve more than one kiss for last night" he says smirking. I kiss him for the second time. When I pull away from the kiss I find Isabella looking at us as if she overhead us plotting her murder.

"Soon to be Mrs Parker?" She asks not very happy about what she just heard.

"Yes, Alex and I are getting married" Ashton says shortly. She looks at me and I start wondering around the kitchen pretending to be busy.

"What, I thought you and Alessia-"

"We are just friends ma" Ash cuts her off. This all makes sense why she was excited when Alessia was here. I quickly take a bunch of fruits before storming out of the house on my way to my office.

"So how was your night out, I'm guessing it was great since you came late today" Cyn says excitedly getting into my office.

"It was amaizing, and I overslept" I say shortly.

"Is that all no juicy details at all of where you were or about what happened?" She asks taking a seat. I put my hand in front of her and she looks at me surprised and starts squealing.

"I, my darling Cynthia am engaged" I say smiling. She takes my hand and examines the ring. And starts commenting on every single detail.

"So when are you getting married?" She asks excitedly. I really haven't thought of that yet. To be honest I don't even know which day I want to choose.

"I haven't thought of that yet" I say shortly. She looks at me and nods.

"What's the rush right? Anyway I have to go" she says getting out of the office.

During lunch Rey comes with my food. What would I do without Rey? He sits down and takes out the food from the bag and I take the food that he brought for me.

"What is that?" He asks pointing at my ring.

"Ashton proposed last night" I say hesitantly. 

"Oh, congratulations I guess. I umh I need to go" he says getting up. This is not good.

"What? What do you mean you need to go you just got here, you barely even touched your food" I say standing up.

"I just remembered that I need to do something" he says quickly.

"Rey..." I say knowing that he is lying to me.

"I'll call you" he says shortly. I eat my lunch and get back to work. When it is finally time to go home a feeling of relief and dread consumes me. Isabella Parker just doesn't want to go back to her house. I am honestly getting tired of her.

When I get home I find Isabella making dinner I make beeline for the stairs but she stops me before I can make an escape to my room.

"Alexendra I need your help" she says tersely. My whole body freezes over as I turn to look at her. Is this woman's brain on some roller coaster ride?

"I need to change I'll be back in a few seconds" I say going up the stairs. I change my shoes and tie my hair before going back down. I wonder what she has in mind. When I get to the kitchen I find her happily chopping carrots.

"What do you want help with?" I ask getting into the kitchen.

"Actually I have everything under control why don't you sit on there" she says pointing at the barstools. I hesitantly take a seat and start nervously playing with my fingers.

"You will not believe who I was talking to" she says excitedly.

"Who were you talking to?" I ask not wanting to participate in this conversation.

"Your mother, she is quite an agreeable woman" she says moving about the kitchen. I feel my stomach getting knots why do I have a feeling that this is not going to end well?

"Oh, well that's good news" I say nervously.

"She and I both think that you are not good enough for Ashton, it carries a lot of weight since she raised you. She told me of how much of a handful you are" she says smirking. I knew it. I just can't take this anymore.

"You know what I tried. I have been stressing hoping that maybe you might come around and finally accept me but I see that you won't be doing that anytime soon. I finally give up! I love Ashton and he loves me too there's nothing you or my mother can do about it so I think it's time you go to the pharmacy and get yourself a dose of reality!" I say finally snapping. I can't just take this constsant battery.

"Alex why the hell are talking like that to my mother?" Ashton asks behind me. Isabella smirks, I get up from the chair and look at him.
