He left. With no warning whatsoever? Did he think he had the right to barge into my house and then leave with no reason beforehand? I knew that I should've been relieved that he left but I felt a slot of emptiness, as if something was missing. An apology? An elaborate explanation? I wasn't sure what it was but I attempted my best to avoid it and move on. Although that seemed better said than done.

As I was sliding into my deep thoughts, Bryce interrupted me and clapped his hands right in front of my stone-cold face. "You look dead," Bryce tilted his head and examined. I wasn't here for his jokes, I was trying to focus on one situation and then deal with another. I was never good at multitasking and I certainly wasn't going to start today.

I rolled my eyes as he stood there, waving his hands in the air pretending I was blind. I snapped at him, "go away," and pushed him out the door and slammed it shut. I huffed and folded my arms as I heard Bryce mumble, "geez," under his breath. I shook my head and walked over to my bed frame, grabbing my phone off my bed.

I unlocked it and my social media feed was deceased as usual. I groaned and plopped my whole body on my bed. I had nothing to do today and I wasn't going to spend it thinking about Dylan's shenanigans. So, with slight hesitation, I walked over to my door and opened it. Bryce was in the living room scrolling through his phone. I grabbed a baseball cap and quickly put it on and slid into my converse and grabbed my keys and wallet.

I stepped into the living room and started approaching the door as Bryce's head shot up from his phone. "Where are you going?"

I shrugged and with no further ado, twisted the doorknob and stepped out. I had no idea where I was heading but I knew I had to get out of the house if I didn't want my mind to clog with insignificant thoughts.

Just as I was walking around the neighbourhood, my phone started vibrating uncontrollably. I checked the caller ID and realized it was Nicole. As I was about to answer, the ringing stopped. I raised my eyebrow in confusion and went into my messages to text her but she was already typing. I stopped in the middle of the sidewalk waiting for her text to arrive.

A rush of confusion and shock approached my presence as the text read, "I'm at your place. Come. Now."
