Lucy sighed, standing in front of a large window that showed the only light upon a large fancy bedroom, assuming it to hers. She looked out the window, tossing something into the air before catching it over and over again. It looked to be a small green, oval gem.
"Mother,"She spoke just as the door to the room opened, not bothering to turn around.
"I hope you have gotten enough rest,"Layla said, looking around the dim room.
"Barely, thinking of Fairy Tail will do that to someone like me it seems. It's a bit unsettling just how much I actually can care for them that I'm a bit paranoid."
"Careful, if your feelings become to much-"
"My magic will go out of control and could put me or someone else in harm, also could be deadly. I know, I've trained to hold back certain feelings just so it wouldn't happen. That's why Fairy Tail makes me paranoid though."
"What do you mean?"
"I've trained to hold back and not to feel certain emotions, but just thinking of them and what they all are capable of making me feel. I've trained so hard, yet just seeing Erza and Master and hearing them speak... after thinking for it for so long now, I find myself feeling worried for them, and somewhat upset,"Lucy turned from the window, stopping from tossing the gem after catching it again,"I don't wish to be an enemy of Fairy Tail, cause they'll most likely win no matter. That's how they are. No matter who ever goes against Fairy Tail, they always win. They may not win the first time going up against an opponent, but in the end they are victorious."
"Don't think about it too much about them for now. They won't find us for the time being. We must focus on what we came here for."
"I understand,"Lucy nodded,"I've been meaning to ask. That artifact, what is that for? I believed we had enough power?"
"It's not for that. I got it for the curse, see if we can reverse it's effects without turning back your powers. But that may be rather difficult. Have you felt anything recently? Anything unusual?"
"Other than the emotions from Fairy Tail,"Lucy brought her hand up to her chin in thought,"Other than... No, nothing. I've been careful into not using my powers."
Layla nodded her head,"If something happens, please do tell me. I will leave you for now, it's sundown so get some rest. Tomorrow will be a busy day,"Layla turned, leaving with a small click as the door shut.
Lucy took a small breath, turning back to the window showing a bit less light as before making the room darker. Her eyes hardened as she stared outside the large window to grassy plains and hills with mountains in the distance,"You've been here for awhile, why don't you speak?"Lucy spoke, a small light coming from next to her. A small girl with light blonde wavy hair that was down to her bare feet that peeked out from her cutesy pink dress, the angel winged pieces over her ears making her look almost majestic,"Mavis."
"Did Master send you?"Lucy asked, turning to look down at her. Mavis shook her head.
"I came here on my own accord. I wanted to see you,"Mavis spoke,"Though you did make the guild become a tense and everyone wants to find you."
Lucy nodded, turning her gaze to back outside.
"I am curious as to what curse your supposed dead mother was speaking about,"Mavis admitted."The Layla you saw is artificial, I created her using Constellation of the Dragon's power and a few pieces of her physical body. She is still dead, though she carries the memories of my mother, the true Layla will never share them,"Lucy stated,"As for the 'curse'. That is something only a small handful know. But you may as well know as well, I trust you won't speak of anything to Fairy Tail."
"Not unless something happens and I am in a position on where I need to tell them."
Lucy nodded in understanding,"Fair enough,"she crossed her arms,"The curse is Constellation of the Dragon itself. The Heartfillias' have had the curse, but it's very rare when they have it, cause they never know. Unfortunately, I picked up a book that had it and naturally I was intrigued and tried it. Ever since that 'Party Trick' I did, Fairy Tail was put under a spell that made them forget my existence, so even though I was there in the guild hall screaming my head off even throwing a chair at Erza, they did not know I was there. But the curse is not to make other forget me... It's emotional based magic that goes out of control if I am in rage or extremely upset or I am very frightened of something. It's powerful, almost deadly if it goes out of control to others and to myself. But even more than that, the magic drains the user's life because it's so powerful. But I can't just stop learning, just not use it so much and keep my emotions under control. I'm not sure why I can't, each time I learn something, I get these burn markings."
"I have heard briefly of this magic, but not as much of it as I have now. I have heard it's painful-""No. This magic is not painful. It only becomes painful if they are running out of life. You could say that the magic is the life force of the user,"Lucy messed with her hair a bit,"The only other time it's painful is when it goes out of control."
"How come you didn't go out of control when you were ignored?"Mavis asked.
"My power wasn't as strong as it is now. If I go out of control now, it could either be deadly or cause severe injury. I've lost it once before and the result-"Lucy looked back down to Mavis,"I damaged my eyes and I had to artificial ones because they were destroyed beyond recognition. It happened two years ago, I had gotten so depressed and upset after being told that I could never return to my old life back at Fairy Tail. I had hoped to return one day... but that seems impossible now. Even though I have the mark on my hand, I can only remember how it was when I could."
"Why can't you return? After you are done with your quests, you are welcome back whenever."
"I appreciate it, but I will probably be dead before I could return. I may die... right in front of fairy Tail."
