I wanted Cas to show up and Mary to go and almost judo flip him, but then Dean to put his hand on Cas' lower back and go "He...he's with me." I wanted her to look really confused and ask "..What is he?" only for Cas to reach down and intertwine his fingers with Dean's. Wanted Dean to glance at him, then see Cas nod softly. And
I wanted Dean to go "Mine." and let Cas pull him closer.
Then, sure, explanations would be in order, but no matter what, they'd do it together. Just how it should be, how they should be.
