Chapter 7
Stile’s drove me to the party. We needed to make sure Scott left ASAP. But first we had to get him alone. He was dancing with Allison. I could barely talk to Stiles since the music was so loud. I looked to my left and Stiles was gone. I looked across the pool and saw Stiles talking to some of the lacrosse players. I scowled. Looked at my watch I saw that it was 12:00. Shit. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Scott flinch and bend over holding his stomach. Allison looked concerned and placed her hand on his back. Scott staggered back from her touch and ran out of backyard, down the road and out of sight. Allison stood next to the pool and frowned. She climbed into her silver Mazda and disappeared. I asked a few people where Stile’s went and some of them said that he ran after Scott. I sighed and started to walk home. I prayed Scott would be okay, and that Stile’s didn’t get hurt. I texted Stile’s and didn’t get a response. I slipped off my red ballet flats and sighed as the cool pavement pressed against my hot feet. After a few minutes of walking in search of Stile’s and Scott, I heard a car slowly ride next to me. It was a familiar black Camero and the window rolled down.
“Get in,” said Derek.
I looked down the quiet deserted road and got into the car. It was very clean, completely black and smelled like new leather.
“Thanks,” I said looking at my hands in my lap.
He said nothing as he drove on, but he didn’t drive towards my house. He turned into a small road in the woods and drove silently along the road.
“Derek, my house isn’t here,” I said worridly, “What are you doing.”
He didn’t say anything for a while, but for some weird reason I trusted him that nothing bad would happen.
“Finding your friend,” he said swiftly as he parked right in the middle of the road.
He got out of the car and I followed. It was pitch black and I couldn’t see anything except the shine of his headlights and the outline of the trees. Derek shuffled back to the car and grabbed a black jacket. Wait that was Allison’s black jacket?
“Why do you have Allison’s jacket?” I asked shivering.
Even though I was wearing my beige raincoat it looked like it was about to start raining heavily. He nudged me deeper into the forest. I could hear his slow, hot breathing on my neck. I looked at my surroundings flashing my phone’s light onto the ground. I stopped short at the familiar setting and Derek bumped into me causing me to fall. I felt a hard branch snap on my head and I felt pain. I heard Derek groan.
“Ouch,” I said rubbing my head softly.
I put my hand down and my hand felt wet. I flashed the phone’s light onto my hand and gasped when I saw blood. I rubbed my hands frantically over my head but the blood wasn’t coming from my head. I shifted the cellphone to the area surrounding me and my heart stopped. In front of me was a mother deer and it’s baby. Yet they were lying dead only feet away from me with their bodies mangled and soaked with fresh blood. I attempted to say something but all that came out was a strangled cry. I felt arms lift me off the ground.
“I, -did Scott?” I shook.
My whole body was shaking so furiously that I felt my knees would give way. I covered my mouth, making sure I wouldn’t throw up from the sight.
