obliteration
Growing up as the Alpha's daughter, fear had always been a foreign concept to me. But all I could think at the moment was that I was scared as hell.
The chaotic storm of battle swarmed around me. Spilling onto the forest floor like a flood, the blood of the wolves glinted in the ethereal light of the moon, its coppery tang permeating through the air. Ferocious growls and howls sounded so loudly that I thought my ear drums would burst. Everywhere I turned, there was savage destruction, and I was in the eye of the hurricane.
"Alpha O'Brien says there's another group from the Blood Rain pack attacking from the left rear. Make sure it's covered!"
My father's mind link echoed through my head. His command reminded me of my main duty during this battle: to keep all other attacks away while my father and Alpha O'Brien take down the Blood Rain's high-status commanders.
My body had already taken quite the beating. The battle had been waging for a solid two hours at this point. My energy was waning was I clashed and brawled with the opposing forces. I'd lost count of the tussles long ago, along with the count of painful gashes and bites that came along with them.
Spinning on my heels, I swam through the sea of wolves rushing forwards as I headed towards the back of the clearing. As I broke free from the flowing mass, I was blindsided. In the blink of an eye, I was on my back, under a steel gray wolf, his coat matted with blood and dirt. Utilizing his superior weight, he pinned me to the ground. A primal growl tore from his throat as he lunged his head forward to sink his canines into my throat. As I threw my head to the right, he slammed his face into the damp ground. But with every flex of a muscle, I could feel the wounds from before reopening, causing my entire body to come alive with a sting. Taking advantage of his momentary confusion and exposed neck, my muzzle thrust forward and tore into his fur. A slight whimper escaped his throat as my jaws snapped together. I heaved his bulky mass and used the momentum to roll us so that I was on top of him, my hold an unyielding force in his neck. With one fierce, swift jerk, I ripped at his throat and spit the fur to the ground. Without a second thought, I took off again towards the back of the clearing.
While the Blood Rain warriors were fierce fighters, I wasn't one to under-estimate the skill of myself or my pack. Considering the years of extraneous training that my father had put me and the rest of my pack through, our packs stood a strong chance. Not to mention that we were battling side by side with the neighboring pack, the Mystic Storm pack. Their fighting was just as up to par. Their Alpha, Alpha O'Brien, and my father, Alpha Marquette, often swapped fighting and training techniques. Despite the fact that our packs really didn't come in contact often, those two remained great allies and collaborators. They always turned to each other when their packs needed help and shared tips and tricks. So, it only made sense that, when the Blood Rain pack threatened both of our packs, we banded together to defeat their power crazy Alpha.
As I bounded for the approaching wolves, the chaos of senses that I was surrounded by in the center of the battle field lessened. Dodging pairs of brawling wolves, I could sense the next band of attackers coming through the tree line. I reached in sight of the tree line just as another dozen wolves of the Blood Rain bounded through them. Immediately, our wolves were on them. Whimpers of pain and growls of desperation filled the air.
I dove straight into the mass, shouldering a brown wolf and sending him into the nearest tree. The wolf quickly leaped from the ground. Flinging myself forward, my paws anchored his chest to the ground. His jaws made a deafening snap as he bit into my shoulder. Pain lanced through my upper body as I tried not to loosen my hold on him. Despite my efforts, he was able to squirm quickly out of my grasp and take a leap at me, throwing me into the air. Scrambling to my feet, I launched at him, securing my jaws around his torso. I clamped my jaw down and yanked back, taking a good mass of his fur with me. Spitting it out, I reared back to attack again. But before I could, the dark brown wolf latched his teeth into my neck, taking advantage of my sloppy lethargy. His jaws clinched on my back. I attempted to wriggle out of his hold, but that only made his teeth sink deeper into my neck. Pain rippled through my body like lightening as I slumped to the ground.
I whimpered as the blood started to flow into his mouth, yet his hold didn't loosen. I could feel the fight draining from me as the pain became overwhelming. Not just the pain from the bite, but from all of my other wounds. Blood matted my fur and with each struggle and battle, healing wounds kept reopening. Even despite my escalated healing ability, it was simply too much for my wolf to endure.
Suddenly, the brown wolf's jaws released me. His head snapped up. Most of the noise in the clearing came to an abrupt halt. Almost all at once, the Blood Rain wolves started fleeing the sight.
But that was as far as I saw as the blackness took over.

Hello! Welcome to my first attempt at writing a book. (:
The first chapter is more so a prologue than anything. Trust me, the next few are quite a bit longer!
If you guys have any errors that you find, or if you ever have any suggestions, constructive criticism, or errors, never feel afraid to comment or message me. I'm always open to suggestions!
Also, I'm really bad at writing synopses, so don't take the description of this book too seriously! (:
XOXO, Erika
