It was a short, short time before he hospital released him and let him back into school.

The garden had been tended to by you, as no one else knew of it, but surely if they did they would want to take care of something so beautiful too.

You hadn't seen him, because the hospital told you to stay away while they got him ready to return to daily life. School, work, the garden, martial arts. Everything he did, he needed to have been readied for.

The cherry blossom trees on the roof started the bloom. It made you wonder, no one ever saw giant trees on top of the school and wondered, "Hey! What in God's name is that anime kiss-kiss fall in love shit coming off the roof?"

You laughed at your own thought, how you worded it to yourself was hilarious. Maybe not to others but to you, that was comedy at its finest.

Flower petals drifted through the air like fog in the swamps during the low seasons. You would watch as one separated from a branch, drifted down with the currents of the wind flowing this way and that way, coming to a halt at the ground. Rest.

You brushed your shoe through them, watching them scuttle around, flying upward and then resuming their spot on the ground.

It was nice to be alone up here. It was like your own world. Like you could control it. If a petal was too close to the ground and you thought "not yet" you could resume it being airborne with a swift move of your hand, and like that. It floated more.

What if the coma had control over Minghao. What if it had said "not yet" and kept him in the coma for years? Forever.  You stood up. Thinking was getting too deep.

Forgetting was getting easier. "Minghao is coming back, forget the coma." You would tell yourself.

You turned toward the cherry blossom tree, treating it like it was a person. "It didn't happen."

You stared at it for moments, it seemed like you were waiting for a reply. You knew it wouldn't come, but you watched. You waited.

"It did happen."

You stepped back, shock taking over. Soonyoung, a korean exchange student smiled at you.

"Hey um... I don't think you should be up here." You backed away from him as he walked toward you, slender legs carrying him on his ride.

"Well if I shouldn't be, neither should you."

"But-"

"Chill chill, I'm friends with Haohao. He wanted me to come make sure... your doing your job you know?" He nudged your side. "Oh... thanks? When did you speak to him?"

"Five minutes ago."

You slumped down, back to your original sitting spot. "He talked to you and not me? I haven't heard my phone ring once..."

Soonyoung waltzed himself around you once again, because giving an evil grin. "Maybe. Just maybe. He would've talked to you if you had your phone."

You ears perked. "What? My phones right he-here?"

You stuffed your hands in your pocket in search to come out with nothing. You stared at your hands for a moment, dumbfounded.

Soonyoung reaches into his own, and held out your phone. "You left this in the classroom. Rang three or four times before I realized who's it was. Then I took it.... and decided it was about time I introduced myself." He stood proudly, as if he had just saved your life.

"Oh... then... thanks I guess." You mumbled. He really shouldn't touch something that's not his.

He stepped back as if you had just dishonored his mother and father. "Just... thanks I guess? What is this! You should be hugging me and thanking me- or wait. That's for Minghao I'm guessing hmm?" He pokes your cheek teasingly.

You stepped back once again, taking note that this guy has no hesitation in making fun of it at people he just met. Twiddling your fingers, and focusing on them rather then Soonyoung you responded. "Umm... Sorry to disappoint. But no moves have been from Minghao nor me. We are nothing but good friends and it will stay that way."

Soonyoung leaned against a tree, raising his eyebrow to you. "It won't." He murmured.

You punched his shoulder. "I will. He won't change it, so therefore out of consideration for his feelings, I won't change it either. Friends Soonyoung, just friends."

"You aren't gonna change it? But... he's going to. I know he will. He told me he will, Minghao doesn't lie." Soonyoung got closer to your face. "You're blushing."

You were shocked, at loss for words and really just wanted to hit him for saying such a ridiculous thing. "Soonyoung. Minghao doesn't like me, and he only wants to be friends."

Once again Soonyoung got closer, causing you to back up. "He already asked you on a date! And you said yes. You can't keep up this friendship title if he's asking you on dates." Soonyoung twacked your forehead. "And stop moving away from me, I'm not gonna do anything. I'm not that guy, but clearly you have horrible judgement or else you'd have realized Minghao intensions." He rolled his eyes, for what would be the last time today, stepping closer to you.

"Sorry sorry..." you groaned, finally not moving once he got closer again. "So... you're being one hundred percent honest when you say that Minghao likes me?" You looked up at him, with questioning eyes.
He nodded. "He does, very much actually. I'm quite surprised he hasn't come out and screamed it to you yet, no offense. You're a little irritating to talk to."

Once again, no problem calling out people he had just met 10 minutes ago. Seemed... just a little... rude... "None taken... So what do I say to him?"

Soonyoung started drifting away from you, heading to the back toward where the door was. "You tell him you feel the same way!" He yelled over his shoulder to you.

"But what if I don't?"

"I can tell by the subconscious smile that appeared on your face when I told you he liked you, that that shouldn't be a worry." He flashed that devilish smile and disappeared through the door.

You sat back down, processing everything.

"That's what makes these petals falling look so beautiful isn't it?"

"Love."
