Chapter 31: The Heartbroken Heartbreaker

Normani's plan of getting DJ to sleep with someone twice just worked. Norminah slept together on Valentine's Day. (CH 30).

Maybe Dinah was speaking from personal experience when she said, "Badass biker bitches with feelings is practically unheard of," while giving Camila the dare (CH 1).

Dinah: "I started developing my app at 16 and by the end of high school it'd become so successful that I made millions in profit. I'm not too fussed about missing college." (CH 2).

Normani's been in love with Dinah since they were 7, but has always been too shy to approach her, even though they grew up together in the same church community. And being the sheltered girl she is, Normani innocently asked her parents to propose marriage to Dinah, never expecting Dinah to actually accept (CH 2, 4, 24).

Normani's POV during Norminah's wedding night: But right before I reached her lowers, Dinah grabbed my hand to stop me and broke off the kiss. "I don't let anyone touch me there without a strap-on," Dinah said breathlessly. I thought I saw a flash of vulnerability in her eyes. (CH 4).

Dinah's POV the morning after Norminah had sex after their wedding: I opened my eyes groggily, wincing at the sunlight pouring in from the windows. My head pounding with a massive hangover, I groaned and turned to face the other side. Empty. She was gone. No. Not again. Regret and humiliation clouded my mind at once.

"Good morning," a voice said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I squinted at the figure approaching me with a breakfast tray. It was Normani, my wife, not- (CH 5).

Dinah: "I just think we went too fast last night. This whole marriage thing is so new for me and I'd really like it if we took it slow and started off as just platonic friends. Let things happen naturally, you know?" (CH 5).

Dinah: "She's just a victim of her upbringing. Her parents brainwashed her thinking that arranged marriage is good and when she became of age, they married her off. She only thinks she loves me because we're married and that's what she was taught to do. But its fake love, Walz. Love happens over time as you get to know each other. And I know we grew up together, but we still barely know each other" (CH 7).

Dinah's POV when Norminah got high: She had me pressed against the wall as the water fell on our naked bodies. Her mouth was ravishing my neck. Her fingers were rubbing my clit, making me feel a sensation that I hadn't felt in years.

"Yes," I moaned, my head hitting the wall.

No! You don't let people fuck you. You fuck them, remember? Focus!

I pushed her hand away and heard myself say, "Friends don't kiss."

Dinah's POV morning after the high (Norminah didn't remember anything from the night before): I had the sudden urge to kiss her. I'd never seen a girl look so beautiful enjoying the simple things that life had to offer.
