  I do my best
To find some kind of glow
I'm giving it some heart and soul, now
From the darkest grays
The sun bursts, clouds break
Yeah, we see that fire
From the streets of Babylon
To the road that we've been on now
The kaleidoscope claims another

Oh oh oh oh (oh)
Well this is life in color (color)
Today feels like no other (other)
And the darkest grays
The sun bursts, clouds break

VERONICA'S P.O.V.

I guess I am dreaming because the house I am witnessing right now is nothing less than those castles of Disney with delicate and fragile as a glass damsels locked away in a tower. I am taken aback by its beauty. I pinch myself to confirm the reality and nothing changes other than the stinging sensation and the fading nail imprints left behind.

I honk tell the guard my name and he after checking my name in the guest list opens the main gate. As I enter and continue to drive I see a long driveway with a beautiful, lovely circular garden and a running fountain in between creating a small rainbow of its own looking heavenly. The house is new. Or its just very well kept, so well that appeared as if it had been finished last week. It looks almost too new in some strange way. The windows are huge and magnificent, anyone can see into the house from an uncomfortable distance, meaning no privacy, I wouldn't EVER want to live in such a house. The house looks like a cut out from Architects Today magazine. It is beyond beautiful like a royal palace but again not of my preference.

I park my car in the free-standing garage and get nipped by chilly breeze as I walk out of my car. I take a glance at my clothes in my car's window before going inside.

"I should have worn something more appropriate than casuals." I regret as I look towards the castle-ish "House".

I ring the doorbell and listen to its muffled sound reverberating from beyond the door and wait uncomfortably for someone to open the door. As the door opens, a beautiful lady who appeared to be in her early 40's welcomes me with a heartwarming smile on her face. She seems very sophisticated. She has light brown hair that is pulled up into a neat and perfect chignon and blue piercing eyes just like Shawns' with a petite and well-maintained frame. She is dressed in a black full sleeved bodycon dress paired up with nude stilettoes.  I wonder if she is always this put together or there is a special occasion.

Suddenly I feel like digging a pit and hiding there as I look at my own outfit.

She senses my uneasiness and speaks, " Darling, you must be Veronica Hudson. Shawn told me about your visit. I am Shawn's mother and my name is Penelope Diego. You can call me Penelope, no formality is needed and  feel free to make yourself at home."

I just nod with a smile on my face.

Penelope calls a maid and speaks something in Spanish. I don't know Spanish but I can understand a few words because of Amy. She loves foreign languages so she keeps learning them and torturing me with the new words every now and then.

Penelope faces me and speaks," I will see you soon Darling. After you children complete your studies, you can join me in the kitchen and tell me how the cookie I am baking tastes?"

"Yes, Penelope, I would love to." I answer.

As I walk with the maid I can't help but look around in astonishment, the lavishing corridors full of antiques, white marble titles which can replace mirrors, a beautiful  Serengeti Plant at the foot of a vast curving staircase that probably went to heaven, polished Persian rug following the trail up the stairs. Everything in this house feels so perfect and pristine.
