Here's another short story for you all. Enjoy!
Laying down on the grass, John stared up at the clouds. Next to him, his sister sat munching on chocolates. He looked over, eyes set on getting one.
"Sara? Can I have a chocolate?" He sat up, looking at her with pleading eyes. She just looked up him and grinned.
"What's the magic word?"
"Pleeeeeeeeease."
"Good, but you're not getting any." She laughed as the saw him pout, then continued to eat the sweets, slowly and while making direct eye contact. John immediately left, Sara's cackles still present in his ears. He stormed into the house, passing his oblivious parents and straight into his own bedroom. There he flopped down on his bed and completely zoned out as his mind attempted to process what his sister had done.
Why? She always would share with me. What made her stop?
There was no doubt in John's mind. Sara was going to pay for her sudden rudeness.
About five minutes later, his plan was formed. He called over Harry, his younger brother who had been building a dinosaur out of legos in the corner, and told him his idea. He readily agreed, and they set out right away.
"Me and Harry are going to the park!"
"Okay, have fun!"
*20 minutes later*
John and Harry trudged into the hallway, their sweaters bulging. With their parents now glued to the tv, they hurried upstairs to the bedroom they shared and dumped the contents of their sweaters onto the floor: five brown candles, a lighter, and four bags of Hershey kisses. Now, all they had was the simple task of setting up for their plan. After that, they could execute it.
After a while of sitting outside and reading, Sara ran out of chocolates. That was when she finally closed her book and walked back towards the house, just in time to say goodbye to her parents as they left for work. As soon as the door closed she grinned. She was in charge now.
Sara could easily mess with her brothers so she skipped up the stairs and to the closed bedroom door. She pressed her up against the wood in hopes of dropping in on a private conversation. However, all she heard was the strangest string of words she had ever listened in on.
"pulchra Deus meus dulcis mihi, pulchra Deus meus dulcis mihi, pulchra-"
Sara immediately burst through the door and flipped the light on. Tim stood in the middle of the burning candles, seemingly annoyed by her appearance. "What the hell are you doing?!" She was confused and frustrated.
"You said I couldn't have any of your chocolate so I'm getting my own," he said, his tone bitter. "I'm summoning the god of chocolate, he'll share with me." Sara laughed.
"Oh I GOTTA see this."
"Fine," He sighed, giving up, "Sit on my bed. Just close the door and shut off the light."
"Whatever." Although skeptical, Sara did as instructed and sat on the bed's bottom bunk, arms crossed.
Tim ignored her. Instead, he closed his eyes and raised his arms up. Then he began the chant again:
"Pulchra Deus meus dulcis mihi, Pulchra Deus meus dulcis mihi, Pulchra Deus meus dulcis mihi!" Within moments, Hershey Kisses fell from above. What Sara couldn't see was Harry, who tossed down the candy with a smirk on his face. She watched, wide-eyed, as the chocolate continued to fall. Tim didn't say anything, he just stood there with his eyes closed and arms raised.
Sara screamed and bolted out the room. She was not going to mess with magic, no way. Back in the room, Tim and Harry blew out the candles and ate a few chocolates while giving each other knowing looks. Their sister really needed to stop reading those books. She was starting to actually believe them.
