"F-fifteen ninety t-three" her high pitched voice staggers. Mason steps out from behind me a hands the girl the money before taking the pizza box out of her hand. I say thank you and close the door leaving the red head with her mouth open.

"Still hungry?" He grins before flipping open the box and grabbing a slice for himself.

"Mason, please, I need to take you to a hospital. You might need stitches or staples or something."

"It's fine, Rowley Poley, it doesn't hurt much." He takes another bite of his pizza.

"Mason, it's not about the pain. It's about the fact that you stomach is open and your lungs can fall out at any moment!" I flair my arms in the air. He seems amused by me  plea. " and I told you not to call me that anymore, I'm 26. You don't see me calling you the name I gave you in the 3rd grade, do you?" I defend.

"If you did, I'd have to end you" he smile goes from playful to menacing within seconds. My stomach slightly flutters at his words.

"Hmm, what was it again?" I place my arm on my chin as it I were pondering. "Masey?" His head slowly turns and his eyes are squinted in annoyance.

"It was Masey, wasn't it?!?" I fake ignorance.

"Row, I mean it, I will end you. Like seriously end you" his words are threatening but the wicked grin across his face tells a different story.

"Masey, Masey, Masey, Masey, Masey!" I stick my tongue out like a child and start laughing.

"That's it, you asked for it Rowley Poley!" He gets up and starts chasing me around the kitchen. I feel like we're little kids again and never want the feeling to go away. I make a b-line, running back to his room jumping on the bed and pulling the covers up to my head pretending to hind. I hear the door reopen slowly and my heart quickens. The goes slightly for a few seconds and I wonder if he actually didn't notice me on the bed. I pull the blanket off my head only to be scared by olive toned face right in front of me. The minute I make eye contact with him I quickly push the blanket back over my head. It's immediately ripped off of my body and replaced by
Mason placing his hands on my hips. He lifts me up and put my over his shoulder with ease. I try to control my laughter as he walks back out of the room into the bathroom we were previously in. He sits me back on the counter and I cross my arms, pretending to pout. He just smiles and continues to poorly bandage himself.

"You know you're doing that wrong" I finally admit. He looks at me with one eyebrow raised. "Take it off" he grins at my words and I can tell he took them in a dirty way. Instead of unwrapping the gauze. He takes a pair of scissors and cuts it down the middle. I am taking by surprise when I see the wound is still bleeding profusely.

"Okay, No, you are not gonna just bandage that up and expect it to heal, that is way too deep. We are going to a hospital, now" I demand. The wound looked deep enough to see his heart. How is he not in agonizing pain right now?  If I had a hole in my stomach I would be balling my eyes out. I don't wait for him to answer, I walk out of the bathroom grabbing his shirt in on hand and his arm in the other. I walk the the door and grab his car keys off of the hanger and press the unlock button to the car. "Get in the car" I demand again.

"Yes Mom" he giggles before obeying. While he walks to the car I lock his front door. I run to the drivers seat and start the car. I have to adjust every thing because Mason is 6'0 and I'm only 5'3 so his car makes me feel even more miniature. I turn on the radio and start driving to the hospital. Mason sings along to pretty much every song that plays and I find myself listening to him instead of the actual artist.

We arrive at the emergency room and its pretty much empty, expected fir one brunette haired boy sitting in a waiting chair with bloody gauze wrapped around his fist and forearm, and a brown haired girl sitting next to him.
