"Jenny" mum called, "Come down here, we need to talk". I walked down stairs and she looked at me and said "are you ok poppet?", She has always called me that, well ever since dad was taken away. My dad got taken away about 6 years ago by the police. He "domestically abused" my mum, tahts what the judge said anyway.
Mum sat me down and talked to me, she said that we haven't been able to spend much time together since she got her new job. So we are going away to Spain for the weekend, I thought that was absurd to go to SPAIN for one weekend, but she said that we would leave on Thursday morning and arrive that night although we would have to leave at 3am and arrive at 11pm so it would be a long day.Thats when I realised, i would be in a swimming costume, and mum would see the bump, the baby. But I just couldn't tell her, I decided to tell Lucia at school tommorow. It's Tuesday today so tommorow will be my last day at school this week so I must tell her then.
A few minutes later the door bell rang so I went to open the door,"hey Jenny" uh oh, it was Lucia at the door. "Hey" I replied "come in", we got some snacks from the kitchen and went up to my bedroom. "I have something to tell you", she looked at me expectantly, "what?" She said. I told her everything, about my dad, Mr Frazer, Spain, pregnancy and childbirth.
She just looked at me then gave me a huge hug and I cried on her shoulder, she really cares about me? I was so terrified that she would walk out on me. But she said she would help me through this and she would get her sister who is 21 to take her to the doctor's. She said her and her sister were really close so Emma (her big sister) would be happy to do that for me. It was at that moment when I realised I was so lucky to have such an amazing best friend who's sister even loves me! Lucia called her sister and she came over strate away, "since you are going to Spain on Thursday we must take to to the hospital now" Emma said, "right now?" I asked and she said we must go now because the longer you leave it the harder it will get.
Me, Lucia and Emma were in the waiting room, awaiting the dreaded voice of the nurse calling out my name, Emma had said that she would pretend to be my legal guardian because if you are under the age of 16 your parents must be approached and told. "Jenny Watson" said the nurse, I stood up and so did Emma and Lucia, we followed the nurse into the room and she pointed to where we should sit.
"So my dear, we do ask that you tell us exactly what happend, if it was intentional, did you use contraception ect...
I didn't dear tell her that I was raped because she might tell the police and then everyone would fine out and that would be terrible, no, I decided to tell her that I drank to much at a party and I can't remember what happened next. Emma and Lucia just stayed quite because they didn't want to make the story seem unrealistic, the nurse had an Irish accent but her voice was kind and soft. She asked if either of them were at the party and the both said no.
