Chapter One ~ The Dragon Named Marilou

I bounced on the edge of my bed, excited for what was going to happen. My dad was about to read me a story. That may seem weird to be so excited about, but he's sooooo good at telling stories. Besides, I'm only six, so what else do you expect me to be excited about?

Wondering what exactly the story will be about, I think through all of the past stories he has told to me. There have been stories of adventure, of princesses and princes and dragons and elves, of little ants and huge dinosaurs.

But my favorite stories are about the dragon named Marilou. Marilou was a rather small dragon, who's coloring's weren't even very special. He is the size of a doggie and looks the colors of brown and black. But Marilou was always made fun of, even though he was, and is, the best dragon EVER!

My father entered the room. He looks nothing like me, he claims I look like my mom, except we have the same eyes. Which is good, cause I love his eyes. They're hazel with flickers of blue, green, and yellow. I call them rainbow eyes.

His slightly longer blond hair glittered from the sunlight as there was a window right next to where he was standing. I sadly tug my long dark brown curly hair, wondering why it couldn't be like his. Don't get me wrong, I love my long curly mess of a head, but his eyes seem very different, almost magical.

"Alien, are you ready to start the story?" He asks, smiling because I must have zoned out or something.

I giggle because he's using my nickname. My real name is Alena, not Alien. That would be so funny if my real name was Alien.

"Yup! I am ready!!! What's the story gonna be about this time, Daddy?" Curiously I ask, trying to get any possible info. out of him.

"You'll see," of course, he just smiles mysteriously and doesn't answer my question with any detail. Then he starts the story, "There once was a dragon named Marilou. She cruised the  sky, looking, scanning, for anything interesting, or not normal..."

I snore and doze off. This is why we travel oh so slowly through each and every one of the stories. It's because I always end up falling asleep by about the first paragraph.

This consists of my memories for about three or four more years. After that, I find out something that will, ultimately, cause a change, that will affect everything I've ever known. This new information will change everything.

--Author's note: Sorry, this is bad and rather short, I wrote the original and it was so much better, but Wattpad deleted it :( still enjoy reading through. Ciao!--
