Not So Happy Beginning (TBJZL ff)

Ch.5-Dad?

I wake up confused as I awake in a new bed. I grab the crutches beside the bed and try to walk. Thankfully I'm able to as I have more strength today. I walk into the living room area to be met by Tobi and food.

"Morning Odessa." He says smiling.

"Morning Tobi." I say sitting down.

"I order us some postmates for breakfast. And someone is coming over today."

"Thank you. Wait, who's coming over?"

"It's a surprise so eat up and we can go get a few things for you."

"You don't need to get me anything." I say with a feeling of guilt.

"Well you're father texted me this morning and told me to get you a phone and any necessities you may need. He said he'll pay me back if that makes you feel better."

I sigh as it does make me feel a bit better. I start thinking of places that may be hiring as I'm going to need to pay for my own things.

"What're you thinking about?" Tobi says breaking me out of my daze.

"Sorry. Just thinking about jobs that might hire me."

"I can ask the guys to let you work with our merch. Freya and Lewis could always use more help."

"You've already done so much for me. I don't want to intrude anymore."

"Trust me when I say you won't be intruding. Plus our store is starting to get quite busy. And you can work until you find another job if you want."

"Are you truly, absolutely sure?" I say starting to clean up the table from my seat.

"Yes. Now go get ready so we can go get your items."

I leave the table and hobble down to my room. I open the bag Josh packed and pick out a random outfit. I hobble into the restroom down the hallway and change not bothering to take a shower right now.

"Okay. Text me when you're close. We are about to go out for an hour or so." I hear from Tobi as I exit the restroom.

I ignore the conversation and go to my room. I put my dirty clothes off to the side and fix the bed sheets. I walk out and into the living room to see Tobi finishing tying his shoes.

"Ready when you are." I say slipping on my shoes.

"Great to see you up and about again."

"You've only seen me walk nicely once."

"Alright Ms. Technical. Let's head to Westfield."

Odessa's Father's POV

I park outside the house thinking of how I didn't see how horrible Lilith and Rachel were to Dessa. I finally open the car door and walk up to the door, opening it.

"Hello?" I bellow out while walking up the stairs.

I open my bedroom door after hearing moaning. I see Lilith with another guy and surprisingly I don't feel hurt.

"How am I not surprise." I say leaning on the door frame.

The two stop and Lilith rolls over looking up at the door.

"Frank honey its not what it looks like."

"Really? You're going to play that card?"

"Fine it is what it looks like--it's just I have needs and you just left me. I felt lonely and I needed someone."

I roll my eyes and leave the room. I go into Odessa's room and pack three large suitcases full of clothes and her computers. I make sure to grab the items that her mother left her and pack everything into the car. I grab the divorce papers from the middle console and bring them inside.

"Hey there's a present on the coffee table for you when you're done." I say leaving and making my way out the house.

I run into Rachel on the way out. She looks surprised to see me.

"Daddy! You're back. Oh how I missed you." Rachel says hugging me.

I don't reciprocate and she backs away.

"Daddy what's wrong?"

"You're still my daughter anf I love you but I can't just let you get away with what you did to Odessa."

"Oh you know. Did that little bitch tell you?"

"You will not speak of you're siater that way and yes I know you thought I wouldn't find out. I'm tired of the way you're acting. You're fucking 24 with no job and no maturity. Get you're life together Rachel. I'm not dealing with anymore of you're shit." I say raising my voice.

Rachel looks surprise to see my reaction and cowers a little in fear.

I sigh and say, "Look I'm sorry for raising my voice but I'm serious Rachel you're not a child anymore.

I leave and make my way to London which is a 30 or so minute drive.

Back to Odessa's POV

"Are you sure you can't tell me?" I beg as we make our way back to the house.

"Just wait a little longer okay. You're going to love the surprise." Tobi says smiling.

I start to get excited so I just work on setting up my new phone. I plop myself on the couch as soon as we get home as my arms were dying from the crutches. I end up doozing off.

Dad's POV

I knock on the door of the apartment and wait, excited to see my baby girl. The door opens and reveals Tobi.

"Hello Tobi." I say with a smile.

"Hey Mr.Tolli." Tobi greets allowing me inside.

"Please call me Frank."

"She fell asleep on the couch as soon as we got home. It's probably the medicine they gave her."

"How long have you been home?" I say sitting on the couch beside Odessa.

"About half an hour. I'll leave you two alone so you can catch up. I'll be in my room down the hall if you need me." Tobi says then leaves.

I start trying to wake up Odessa. I shake her a bit.

"Odessa. Sweetheart. Guess who's here."

She wakes up a bit but is still in a daze. She rubs her eyes trying to get the sleepiness out of them.

Odessa's POV

I awake to a familar voice. I rub my eyes and look at them. I jump up as soon as I recognize my father.

"Dad!" I exclaim wrapping my arms around him tightly the best I could.

"Hello Dessa."

"I'm so happy to see you. I've missed you so much." I say letting out of the hug.

"I missed you very much as well sweetheart."

I start to frown as I ask, "Are you okay with Rachel and her?"

"I gave Lilith the divorce papers as I walked in on her with another man. I bumped into Rachel on the way out and may have raised my voice at her."

"Thank you for standing up for me."

"I will always stand up for you don't ever doubt that. I would do the same for Rachel. You two are my daughters and I love you will all my heart but sometimes I have to play bad cop."

"You didn't like having to play bad cop did you?"

"No. It sucked but it was nice to tell her what was on my mind."

"Anyway how long are you staying?"

"I have to fly to New York in two days. The company only let me off for a few days since I told them a family emergency came up."

"Well you will be a busy man whilw your here. You have to meet all of the Sidemen. They are amazing people and they do Youtube which is so cool." I continue to tell him all about the people I met since leaving the house.
