"Jona Hurry up! Go! They are going to catch us!" Mia yells running behind me. "I'm going as fast as I can!!" I yell back.

"Okay class! Type the date at the top right hand corner of your screen! If you need a reminder, it's March 3rd 2100." My English teacher, Mrs. James. She's a plump but pretty, always wearing a flower dress and black high heels. Her hair is in a bun today which is definitely a change. We all know her hair is dyed blonde, but she insists that she's a blonde, almost white, blue eyed beauty. If she wasn't so full of herself she'd be my most favorite teacher. She started talking about the lesson but I wasn't listening. I noticed that Mia wasn't in class. Which is extremely rare for her, she is a total nerd for this class. She never missed a day before. Well, that's not true. We skip sometimes to go to our special place, We are supposed to go today. Before I know it the bell rings, since it's our last period everyone hurries to put everything up since our teacher doesn't let us pack up before the bell. Everyone left besides me. I wait a few minutes and I hear a knock on the door. I got up and Mia's standing there. I stare at her lifting a eyebrow. She mumbles a sorry "I was at the art room doing a project." She walks in and picks my backpack off the floor. "Mia, Jona." The English teacher calls us. "You guys running off again?" She says in a stern voice, eyeing us. Our eyes widen and we look at each other. "Take this, be safe" She hands me a little book with a rainbow on it.
My name is Jona. I'm 17 years old. I live in the city of Veralo, I have brown eyes and I have brown hair that I dyed green with a pixie cut. I love riding my skateboard and I usually hang out with my best friend Mia. I'm a junior in Tessem High school
Mia has long blonde hair with blue tips, she's 16 years old, a sophomore, she's the prettiest person in this whole school to be completely honest.
I can get lost in her eyes, I have the tendency to actually do just that, she has to snap her fingers a couple times to get me back to earth.
Veralo is called a safe haven, but it's just basically a extremely large prison. Years ago there was a nuclear war. It wiped out most of the already overpopulating planet. We managed to restore most of the wildlife. But some types of animals are completely gone, my history teacher told us about some animals, like a giraffe. Apparently they are as big as trees or something. And tigers, pandas, and a unicorn. Unicorn was one my friend told me about, I'm still not sure if that's true. "Okay so I forgot where the entrance is again." Mia said looking around in the bushes. I chuckle and step into the bush I was standing in front of. "Right" I heard her mumble. The thing I hate about this place is all the stupid rules we have. Mia and I broke most of them already and no one knows cause we aren't freaking stupid.
Rules
1. Girls and Boys must not speak until they are the right age to reproduce, not including family.

5. No leaving the fenced area, or else you will be considered rogue and if back on premises you with be assassinated.
That we haven't done. We have no idea if anything is even out there.
"Ugh, I just swallowed a bug." Mia says with disgust. I laugh seeing her face all scrunched up. "Well how many times has this happened now? 40?" I say through laughs. "Oh shut up dummy!!" Mia squeaks. We sit at the large tree on the hill, Our safe place.
Mia sits next to me putting her head on my shoulder. Ughhhhhhhhhh she's so cute. Mother of god. "Jona." Mia says taking her head off my shoulder after a few minutes. "What do you think it was like before?" She said eyes flickering between my lips and my eyes. "I don't know, maybe, free?" I stare up at the sky "Maybe they traveled to whole new places, they could talk to anyone, do anything. Who knows." I say while looking back at her. "I like your version." She says smiling. "What do you think it's like?" I say to her. "I think there is colors everywhere!" She shoots up and Jumps around with excitement "People traveling with their children. Eating cupcakes and ice cream. CHOCOLATE ice cream!" I get up and take her by the hands and jump around with her. Her smile so radiant it could light up the whole sky. She's my world and I wish I could tell her. I wish I could do badly.
