Me? A horse? How?

Chapter 1

Isla's POV

My name is Isla and I have long brown hair with caramel highlights, I have brown eyes and my favourite hobby is riding horses.

I live on a farm with my mum who is a midwife and my dad who is a farm hand. I own 2 horses named Patchy and Snowy, Patchy is a black and white pinto who loves going on trail rides and Snowy is a creamy colour and loves showing off and preforming in front of my friends. I have a black Labrador named Neo and three chickens named Clucky, Lucky and Penny.

Time Lapse (12 hours later)

'ISLA!!' I hear calling from the kitchen 'you need to go to the store and get some bread and milk!' I groan and slowly get out of bed and walk over to my closet. I select a pair of denim shorts and a white singlet top along with a pair of white converse. I walk into my bathroom and apply some makeup then I tie my hair into a high pony. I walk down the stairs and grab an apple and my purse.

On my way to the store I chose to walk through the park because it was a lovely day and I felt like taking the scenic route. As I am walking through the trees someone comes up behind me and pulls me towards a tree, they start chanting something in a strange language that I don't understand, it kind of sounds like, 'at midnight the first change will happen.' I couldn't decide if this was true or false but it still had me worried. The stranger finishes the chant and runs away but as he is running he drops a note onto the ground I walk over and pick it up........

"Every day you will gain a new feature of a horse, once you become one there will be no turning back!!"

I felt scared and worried, I had no idea what to do. All I could think of was to just go to the store and buy the bread and milk. On my way I looked around some clothing stores and when I reached my destination, I purchased the things I needed and ran home.

When I got there I didn't even feel the slightest bit tired or puffed out. I thought that was a bit weird but anyway......

'ISLA!!!!!!' I hear once again

'Yes mum' I reply

'What took you so long, you were meant to be back an hour ago!!' She tells me

'Whoops sorry I walked the wrong way' I said hoping she would believe my lie

'Okay hunny, did you get the bread and milk?'

'Yes mum' I groaned hoping this would end soon

She didn't reply so I put the items in the kitchen and walked up the stairs to my room, flopped on the bed and looked at the note again. I just couldn't believe what was happening, why me? I was starting to fell a slight pain in my lower back but i dismissed it as a cramp. I closed my eyes for a while and eventually fell into a dreamless sleep. 2 hours later I woke up and hopped in the shower, I then washed my hair and got out. I got changed into some shorts and a t-shirt and complete some homework that I hadn't done yet. I only had 1 week left of school and I was so excited. After I finished my homework I called my best friend Lara and ask if she can sleepover tonight, she happily agreed and said she would be here as soon as possible.

'Hey Isla' she said as she walked through the doors with her arms full of bags

'Wow, are u moving in??' I question her

'No I have my sleeping bag, pillow, clothes, pyjamas, toiletries, and my horse riding stuff' she replies

'Okay, how about we get dressed into some riding clothes and go get Patchy and Snowy' I say

'Sure, I'll be in the bathroom!' She says as she runs in

I run into my bedroom and get changed into a pair of black jodhpurs, a pink shirt and my grey riding boots. I walk out of the room to see Lara dressed in similar gear except she has a blue shirt on. We head out of the house and lead Patchy and Snowy into the stalls. I get Patchy and Lara gets Snowy. I tack Patchy up and put on his black jumping saddle and a matching bridle, put the boots on and comb his mane and tail. When I get all the knots out I braid his tail and cut off the yucky ends. I put on my helmet and chaps, take Patchy out of the stall and get on.

Time lapse ( 2 hours later )

We rinse off the horses after a long ride and put them into the stable. We race each other back up to the house and have our showers. We get changed into a pair of pyjamas and Kay down on the couch with a block of chocolate and a bag of salt and vinegar chips, put on Journey to the centre of the Earth and eat some chocolate. Once the movie is over I make Lara a bed in the lounge room and put on another movie. We get called for dinner and sit down at the table.

'Thank you' Lara says to my parents for the dinner

'No problem Lara' they respond to her

After dinner we go back to the lounge room and eat the rest of our food. Then we lay down on our beds and chat for a little while. Eventually we fall asleep and my lower back starts aching again. But I can't do anything about it because I fall asleep.
