The room was dark. Dark, but for the light of a double monitor setup. The monitors displayed white numbers running down the screen. There was a chair. It was black and covered with leather. On the chair sat a tall man. The man's hands were quickly tapping away loudly at the mechanical keyboard.
'I'm breaking their final firewall.' muttered the man, pressing the earpiece in his ear.
'Okay, nice!' replied a hoarse voice coming from the earpiece. The man suddenly stopped, grinned and tilted his head slowly.
'Done." he exclaimed. His smile faded away as his eyebrows and mouth pursed. His hands started shaking as he hovered over a file labelled "Operation White Lightning" with his cursor. He clicked it and scanned the documents inside it. ' The document shows nuclear plans. What the hell is this, dude?' The man whispered. His monitors both suddenly both shut down. 'Jesus Christ!' he yelled as if he lost something valuable. 'It's all gone, I lost the file.' he complained angrily. 'God damn, Angus. I was so damned close and I didn't get anything out of it! It's like they always know when we're coming for them. I'm done for today, bro. Good night.' The man took out his earpiece before the voice was able to reply.
A loud ringing from his phone suddenly woke the man up. He realised he had slept in his chair. He adjusted his reclining chair upright. He frantically lifted the phone to his ear. "Yo, Elon!" exclaimed the voice on the phone,
'Yeah, what's up?' Elon replied softly still rubbing his eyes,
'I got up early today and did a bit of research. Apparently, because we almost hacked them yesterday we need to go to a place called Area 52 so we can be in range to be able to download the files we need.' replied the voice on the phone
'Meet in 5 minutes, outside my place-.' Elon muttered quickly.
'Walk outside." interrupted the voice confidently.
Elon trudged towards the door and turned the cold brass doorknob, as a bright white light invaded his pupils. He quickly sat down on his doorstep feeling like the whole world was spinning, as he frantically grabbed his head and ran his fingers through his thick oily hair. He then discretely heard a soft chuckle coming from directly in front of him. The nausea faded away as he raised and looked directly at another man in his car,
'Hahaha! You're so funny, Angus!' Elon laughed sarcastically,
'Come on, you lazy son of a gun. Let's go!' exclaimed Angus sounding excited. Elon strolled with fatigue towards and got into the car. Angus laughed as the car pulled into the loud traffic of LA.
The sound of loud rock music woke Elon up as his eye flickered. His hands stretched in fatigue as Angus whispered into his ear. It was pitch black, other than the headlights of their car. "Wakey, Wakey, rise and shine.'
'Leave me alone!' muttered Elon viciously, still half sleeping. 'Where are we? Almost there yet?' he continued.
'According to my sources, we're close. Get ready.' reminded, Angus, as they approached a large structure. It had tall walls, like of the walls of a prison, surrounded by coils of barbed wire. They both gulped in doubt.
The pair got out of the car as Elon opened up his laptop and sat on the pavement.
'I'm hacking through the security systems so you can climb over and get into a 300-foot range to the large antenna,' Elon explained as he tried to break through the multiple layers of encryption. Elon gave Angus the thumbs up, as Angus fired a grappling hook at the top of the white wall and activated his earpiece. Angus attached the rope from the grappling hook to himself as he began to scale the wall. Elon passed him a black USB thumb drive. 'Plug this into your tablet when you get in position,' he said very clearly, you got five minutes,' Elon said over the earpiece,
'Copy, where am I going exactly?
'According to the schematics, two more buildings, north.' Elon muttered softly
'Copy, I'm plugging it in now!' Angus whispered 'Ahhhhh!' screamed Angus in pure agony. 'I've been hit' he continued
'Are you good?' Elon replied quickly as his hands began to shake. A deluge of emotions invaded his brain. His heart raced rapidly as his hands shook like he had been shocked by electricity. He fell in utter despair. Angus continued to yell but the signal from the earpiece began to break up.
'Don't you dare leave me!' Cried Elon helplessly as he closed the lid of his laptop and got into his car and drove towards the infinite desert.
Adrenaline compromised his veins, as Elon continued to drive. His face was masked in fear, white as a sheet. His dry purple lips shook as he saw the gorgeous sunrise on the horizon. Pink and orange lights stained the clear sky as Elon pulled over to the side of the road and collapsed onto the steering wheel.
A loud ringing of his phone shook Elon awake. He looked over at his phone as he answered the facetime call from an Angus. His heart dropped, 'Angus!' he yelled. His phone displayed a live video of Angus, gagged and tied to a chair. ' If you do anything to him I swear... ' he yelled as he was interrupted by a loud "bang". He saw the blood of his childhood friend leaking onto a cement floor. He felt like he had been stabbed hundreds of times but just wouldn't die. He wanted to die. The call ended as a waterfall of tears ran down his pale ghostly cheeks. He clenched his fists in rage.
Nostalgia flooded his mind as he remembered a time when he and Angus played hide and seek with their friends when they were kids. He remembered hiding close to Angus. He recalled Angus being caught and telling the seeker where he was hiding. He realised that he and Angus were truly best friends. Determination and Revenge took over all of his senses as Elon turned his car around returning towards the colossal Fortress.
As Elon was approaching the gargantuan structure. He readied himself opening his laptop and starting to break down the encryption of the facility. His fingers kept tapping at an insane speed. 'Damn, I have to get in closer!' he whispered to himself as he climbed over the walls and crept strategically closer to a large antenna. He kept tapping vigorously at the keyboard. 'I got it!' he said to himself as he started to download the information from the "Operation White Lightning" file. The download percentage continued to increase until it reached 99%. 'BANG!' Elon felt an immense, sharp pain on his right shoulder as he fell onto the ground like a sack of potatoes. Everything went dark.
Elon felt a rush of cold air pressuring his higher back and his shoulders. Metal handcuffs pierced through the skin on his wrists. Blood from his busted lips trickled down his chin. 'Who are you monsters? You killed my best friend!' he sobbed desperately. Silence filled the room as Elon heard a very familiar voice.
'You mean me, Elon?'
