dear diary,
i met a boy. he made my dull heart light up with joy.

it seemed that skies were always filled with grey clouds, like the sun was too shy to come out and play. life was boring, uneventful and dark ever since you moved to manchester some weeks ago. your mother and father had a divorce and reluctantly, you were to move with your mother to manchester, her home town. you couldn't say that you were sad about the divorce, well, you were but it was bound to happen. your mother and father were never truly happy together, always arguing about little things that never mattered and hardly speaking to one another whenever they weren't arguing. you were sort of relieved to hear the news- now they could be happy and start over, you told yourself.
your father called every friday after supper. you had a wonderful relationship with both of your parents. you could tell your mother pretty much anything and your father was always extremely outgoing and helpful. they both had hearts of gold, they just weren't meant for each other.
your train of thought was broken by the loud ring of the school bell, signaling this class was dismissed and it was time for science. out of all the classes, science was your favorite and mainly because of the teacher. it didn't matter who you were or what your situation was, she understood it all. she was also incredibly smart and always pushed her students to try their best. in fact, everyone in that science class was pretty supportive of each other. all except one boy, who always sat in the back of the room and never said much. he never did any work, either, which you didn't understand. wouldn't you get bored of staring at the same blank walls for eight hours a day?
another thing about said boy was he always threw glares at you. they weren't rude, per say, but they were strange. you remembered the first time you walked into that classroom. everyone had taken quick glances at you and welcomed you but him, he never took those pretty eyes off of you. you wanted to tell yourself that he had a crush on you but no one ever had a crush on you, at least, not that you know of. he was a cute boy, you supposed. you heard that he was a bit of a troublemaker from some of your classmates but you didn't listen. you didn't know the boy, so you wouldn't make assumptions about him.
you walked into the classroom and was greeted by many smiles, to which you returned. you took your usual seat in the middle of the classroom and the lesson began. though you weren't paying much attention today, you did hear something about a project that involved partners. you sighed and tapped your pencil against the table. since you recently moved to manchester, you hadn't made many friends. or, any, for that matter. you were a bit anxious to see who your partner would be, if you didn't have to pick for yourself, that is. to your luck, the partners were picked for you and naturally, you were paired with non other then the boy, liam.
liam moved to the seat next to you, a confident step in his walk that matched the confidence in his smirk.

"liam gallagher, love. future legend," he said, holding his hand out for you to shake.

hesitantly, you took his hand and shook it as you told him your name. you smiled nervously, feeling the blood rush into your cheeks to create a rose color that he thought looked beautiful.

"a beautiful name for a beautiful girl," he tried.

you just laughed and mumbled a quiet, "shut up." by far, that was your favorite moment in that class. it was anything but boring and anything but ordinary which you enjoyed.

"s'it cool if i come round to your place later? just so we quicken the pace with this damned project."

"yeah, sure," you tried to say casually, "i'll meet you after school."

-

the rest of the day seemed to slow down and you impatiently waited for the last school bell to ring. your heart raced faster by every second until you finally heard the loud ring of the bell. you really liked liam. he made you smile and laugh like you haven't in weeks, maybe even months and you only just met him! you gathered your books and shoved them messily into your bag before practically running out the door. your pace slowed as you spotted liam. he smirked at you as you neared him, your heart slowing as he greeted you with a simple, "hey."
you led him to your home, which he found absolutely lovely, by the way.

"your mam really knows how to fix a place up," liam complimented.

you thanked him and walked up to your room, which was covered with posters of your favorite bands and liam's, too.

"fit bird, excellent taste in music.. you're just my type."

"yeah, yeah," you rolled your eyes. "can i get you anything so we can start, or do you wanna just hit on me all day?"

"could i? there's a lot i have in store," he smirked.

"i'll get you some water," you mumbled while leaving liam in your room.

when you came back, you found him nose deep in your diary. you felt every nerve in your body heat up whilst your eyes went wide and your cheeks red with embarrassment.

"a- are you fucking kidding me? do you always go through people's shit?"

liam jumped at the sound of your voice, his eyes as wide as yours as he slammed the notebook shut.

"shit! i um.. shit!"

of course, he just happened to read the page that was about him. it didn't say much but that didn't matter. it was enough for him to be written about, which meant he was on your mind which meant.. you didn't know what it meant but it didn't matter! it's personal and now he was literally reading you like an open book!

"i think it's cute."

"well, i don't," you stated, crossing our arms over your chest.

"no, i mean the fact that you keep a diary. oh, and you wrote about me! it's adorable!"

you sighed and felt the tears sting your eyes. you were so fucking embarrassed that it was embarrassing, if that makes sense. you couldn't bring yourself to look at liam so instead, you focused your gaze on your favorite pair of shoes. your eyes traced the laces in hopes of distracting yourself before you cried.

"hey, don't cry."

liam lifted your head up and wiped the tears that had already fallen.

"there's no reason to be embarrassed, love. my brother writes in a diary and he's in his fucking twenties," liam laughed and so did you.

you looked at him, still a little embarrassed but still smiling. he closed his eyes and leaned in, placing a small but passionate kiss on your lips. nervous, you kissed back. it was your first kiss and you really did not expect it to be like this, but you weren't necessarily complaining.

"to be fair, i like you quite a lot, too," liam told you.
