"ROSE!!" My mother screamed from the kitchen.

"Y-yes, m-mother." I quickly walked into the kitchen.

"What's this?!" She held up my report card.

"A-an E." I shuddered.

"You little brat!" She smacked me then left to find father.

I quickly ran up to my room and locked the door. Packing a small backpack of necessities I heard my parents coming up the stairs. Quickly grabbing my phone I threw my window open. I jumped out and started running as fast as my legs would carry me. I stopped around sunset remembering I had no food and didn't eat lunch. The vampires will be coming out soon and I was loosing my consciousness. As I heard a rustle around me, then my lights went out.

Colt's POV-

I got out of my room a little early to get first hunt and maybe get a new pet. I heard rustling by a tree near me. "Who would be out here this late?" I whispered to myself.

As I neared the tree a sweet nectar smell filled my nose. A small girl laying against a tree had a small cut visible on her hand. Exhaustion covered her face and cuts covered her arms. "This must be my lucky day!" I mentally high-fived myself.

As I neared her I noticed how small her body was and how thin her frame was. This girl looked beaten and bruised and it wasn't from a vampire. She either had an abusive boyfriend or parents. Picking her up I carried her to my room in the castle. Laying her on the couch I went to get a wash cloth from the bathroom. "Who's this girl?" My brother was standing over her petite frame.

"My new pet. I found her in the woods sleeping against a tree." I lightly placed the wash cloth on her forehead.

"She's tiny." My brother, Daniel, scoffed.

"Yes, I know. I think her family abused her and she ran away." I explained.

" I would too, she's so tiny that she looks sick. Her body is covered in gashes and bruises." He pulled the side of her shirt up slightly.

"Be nice, brother." I pushed his hand away and fixed her shirt.

She shot up gasping at my side. Fear covered her face and she held on the the couch as if her life depended on it. "W-Where am I-I?" Her voice was barely audible and it shook furiously.
