It was a warm and sunny day, and Kathryn was strolling out in the garden with Candace and her Golden Retriever: Zoey.
“Today is just like any other day isn’t it Candace?” Kathryn complimented on the weather. Today was just like any other day.
“Mhmm… It is.” Candace agreed.
“But I want to capture pictures of nature this day, oh how I wish I have a device.” Kathryn lied.
“You know what’s the punishment when people use gadgets right.” Candace reprimanded Kathryn.
“Yep … right.” Kathryn just went with the flow.
“Your highness! The King Marius and the Queen Cozette wants to see you immediately at the royal living room.” Johann, the butler informed, worried.
“Oookay, but… Why does your face look worried? Is something wrong?” Kathryn questioned.
“Yes, the father of Katie, your cousin's father died early this morning. I think the King and Queen will visit there for a short period of time.” Johann replied.
“How short?” Kathryn questioned.
“For about 3 months.” The butler replied.
“HOW IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE SHORT?" Kathryn freaked out. "Okay, thank you for informing me Johann, you may now proceed.” Kathryn ordered.
“Yes, your highness.” Johann exited.
“Let’s go Kathryn, quick.” Candace said.
“Okay, come on boy. We’ve got a small problem.” Kathryn called out to Zoey.
[At the living room]
“Kathryn, as you know, Katie’s father, Wilfred died. We need to go there as soon as possible, and you will temporarily take care of the kingdom. Don’t worry, you’ve got your councilmen and the governors to help you. And of course Candace too.” Cozette informed her daughter.
“Yes Kathryn, be responsible. Enough of your foolishness and start acting like a Queen. This temporary ruling will also give you experience what it will be like to become a ruler of a land.” Marius added.
“Yes mother, father. Send my condolences.” Kathryn was irritated but she bowed courteously.
“And Candace, please make sure that she does what she have to do. So please, help her.”
“She said please? I can’t believe it!” Kathryn said on her mind.
“Yes, your highness.” Candace bowed formally.
“We’re going to leave this noon and you Kathryn will start your job tomorrow morning. You can now leave.” Cozette declared.
The two bowed formally and exited.
“Is this really true Candace? Me? In charge of all the people of Keantucky? I don’t know what to do!” Kathryn was worried.
