Daniel was laying on his side, sighing boredly on his hospital bed. He hated the place more than anything- second to the fact he was stupid enough to drink his own poison. What kind of dumbass does that?
Guess it was a literal taste of his own medicine. But he'd learn to accept that. It's not like he was going to ever show his face up at the camp again, even if he wanted to. Which he didn't, but court wasn't exactly going to let him roam free with a reputation like his.
Mass murdering cult leaders don't fare well under prison anyways. At one point he thought he would enter as a legend: the sovereign of a religious group that sacrifices children with beliefs that they're the most pure in this world to a god and some sort of confederacy.
Then again, even people that are locked up don't always like people killing kids. Whatever. The blond was slowly drifting off to sleep, when suddenly-
"Mr. Evans, you have a visitor." The voice was monotone, and the nurse who had delivered the oh such good news had a deadpan expression on as she spoke. She didn't like Daniel, to put it nicely.
"How sure are you of that? I'm not the type of person to exactly just get visitors, ma'am," he replied bitterly, sure it was some sort of mistake. His parents abused him as a child, so they wouldn't visit. His followers loved him, sure, but were too scared to confront him as just two people instead of as a group.
And what friends did he even have? So that rules out all the visitors he could possibly get. Unless it maybe was his parents, to mock his failure as a son and as a cult leader. In that case, he honestly couldn't care less.
"He claims to be your friend, once your co-worker. His name is David Luna," the nurse said, slightly frustrated.
No. No no no no no no no no. This couldn't be happening, why the Hell would David of all people visit him? And why does he say he's his friend? Ah, he's probably just here to scold him for nearly killing his campers and rub it in.
But he just seemed too nice to do that.
"Uh.. let them in.." he spoke quietly, hearing the nurse leave and what assumably was David coming in, feeling the other male's presence standing next to his bed.
However, Daniel didn't shift from his position faced away from the redhead. "Whatever you want, make it quick. I don't really want to hear your nonsense mockery, I already know that I failed. Or, if you're here for an apology, you can kindly-"
Suddenly, without warning or even words from David, he simply scooped the blue eyed male up in his arms, holding him bridal-style, making Daniel instantly face David, a red hue becoming apparent on his face.
David simply smiled at him, turning around with the blond still in his arms. Daniel was at a loss for words- what was he doing? How could he even carry him without collapsing? He was probably just going to drop him on the floor and laugh or something.
Nope. Instead, David took a deep breath, bursting out of Daniel's hospital room.
"David, what are you doing!?"
"Breaking you out of the hospital, silly!" David replied, chuckling as he answered. Then, just as sudden as he picked him up, he sprinted through the hospital, too quick for anyone to comprehend what was happening in the moment.
Daniel yelped at the sudden outburst of speed, holding onto the redhead by wrapping his arms around his neck, instantly realizing what he had done. Shit, no, wait!
But before he could undo his mistake David let out a small 'aww', much to the blond's embarrassment. He was a killing Kool-Aid cultist, not some frightened kid. He huffed, quickly retracting his arms from the camp counselor and covering his face with his hands, in attempt to hide his blush.
He was processing everything that was happening as fast as a Windows 7 computer updates. Slowly, very slowly, it clicked.
The man he tried to kill was rescuing him from a life sentence to prison, and he couldn't possibly be THAT oblivious as to not know it was a crime to do that. But his thoughts were quickly interrupted as he was practically thrown into the backseat of David's car.
"Seatbelt!" He chirped before closing the door and ushering himself to the driver's seat, pulling into the road with a loud screech as it skidded away from the hospital.
Daniel was about to speak, not protest but definitely say something. That was, until a familiar female voice spoke up from the passenger's spot. Gwen.
"Shut the fuck up and let me explain. I don't want to do this, but if I hadn't agreed David would have cried or something. First of all, you owe us. Big time. You'll start by cleaning the Mess Hall of the camp for a month before we decide your other way you can repay us. I'm aiming for something miserable and humiliating as Hell, but anyways. We only bailed you out because David knew you'd be sentenced to prison, and while I think you deserve it, this idiot thinks you deserve a second chance. So, you better be damn grateful for this guy."
Daniel blinked, letting it all sink in, finding himself speechless yet again, but it didn't stop him from listening.
"If you don't comply with us, we'll call the police. They'll probably set up some huge award for finding you once they realize you're missing, so I won't hesitate, bitch." (If you get that vine reference I love you.)
"Oh! And don't worry about me, while I did use my real name while I filed in a visiting form, we have a plan to go with that! But don't you stress your pretty little head about that until it comes to it! Even then, we got it covered!" David hummed happily, as by now he had resumed a normal pace while he drove.
"The kids know about your return, but there's no guarantee they won't try to torture you during your stay," Gwen added before turning to see the blond, a sin sister grin on her face.
"Good luck."
A/N: Alright I fixed it. Hope you like my trash! :)
