Sonamy Boom - The Purple Aura (One-Shot)

Amy Rose, one of Bygone Island's well-known heroes was out this day and was exploring the jungles that engulfed the Island's center. Usually she looks for any artifacts or something to be able to study but today was different. Amy was on a mission, in search of the glowing rock which came plummeting down the night before into the tropical forest.

The night before...

The blue blur and the rest of the gang were sitting on the beach nearby Sonic's shack, eating roasted marshmallows around the campfire ignited earlier. The reason they were out here at 10:00 at night was that their little buddy Tails had said there would be an amazing meteorite shower.

"Tails......how much longer" a whining Sonic complained as he impatiently began to tap his shoe on the sand, in the process creating a drag mark behind it.

"Be patient....okay" the young twin-tailed fox said while slightly gritting his teeth in frustration.

"Fine then" Sonic let out a tiny snicker at his little brothers frustrated face. He was so young and innocent.

Amy then looks over at the two "can we please just watch and enjoying the night breeze with no fighting" slightly assertive. Sticks and the red echidna knuckles nodded in agreement at Amy's words.

Half an hour past in almost absolute silence except for the occasional sneeze or cough. Then as if out of nowhere rocks with a purple aura around them came shooting through the sky lighting up the black night. The gang stared in amazement as the sky above was streaked with a deep purple shade, all of the meteorites flew over their heads through the atmosphere. As the badger,echidna, fox and two hedgehogs watch in its utter glory for a 15-20 minutes, this experience was about to come to an end, but first the Grande finale.

All the small meteors had disappeared out of the sky leaving it black once again until the sky was full of the purple aura and a large ball of fire descended into the forest behind, leaving the group simply speechless as the ground shook as a result of the impact.

Amy was now curious and decided she would check it out in the morning.

The group bid their goodbye and the blue blur insisted on walking Amy home on such a "cold" night as Sonic phrased it, and what could she do but accept the offer from her hero, friend, team-mate and crush.

"Alright, see you tomorrow Ames...." Sonic quickly pecked Amy on the forehead and bolted off sheepishly in embarrassment, realizing what he had done to his "friend", leaving a flustered Amy.

"..................Bye......i guess" Amy mumbled as her cheeks burnt red and her voice trailed off at the hedgehog's actions, although sonic had already sped off into the night

Back to the present...

Amy has been searching the jungles of her Island home now for hours still with no luck of finding the meteor or to forgot about last night's events. This meteorite was proving harder to find than suspected. Then just as Amy was about to give up on her days objective she stumbled upon a large impact crater containing a glowing stone 3 feet across and 2 wide. She gasped with wide eyes at the fluorescent rock before her.

"Its....its....." Amy continued as she tried to gather words to describe the beautiful site in front of her "...spectacular and I have to take the back and show everyone my find"

The hedgehog slowly but carefully make her way down the impact crater in an attempt to retrieve the meteor. Then out of nowhere a blue blur appeared at the top edge of the hole containing the space rock.

Sonic waved at Amy with a cheeky grin "hey Ames"

Amy was distracted by the task at hand and the reward available then was snapped out of her transfixed stated and froze at the site of the her team mate staring at her with a huge grin plastered on his face.
