Scene 1: We don't kill unless we're sure

Rick ran as fast as his injured leg would allow him. When he got there, he saw with shock that Maggie was hanging from a tree with a rope around her neck. Her face was almost ghostly pale, just a trace of color left in it. Glenn is sobbing, slowly sawing at the rope with a knife. Rick reaches there and swings a machete and cuts the rope instantly. He catches her body, and lays her gently on the ground. The rest of the group arrives and is shocked by the scene that is happening before them. Rick tears the rope away from Maggie's neck and throws it aside.

"Rick?" Glenn asks through tears. Rick checks Maggie's wrist for a pulse, then puts is head on her chest. "She has a faint pulse, but she isn't breathing. We need to act NOW! Carl get me a towel-" said Rick. "Dad-" begin Carl in a voice of relief and shock, but was cut off by Rick. "There's no time to argue, get a towel, NOW! Michonne get me some water, hurry!” Carl and Michonne come back with the towel and water, and Rick begins immediately. He puts the towel under her head, and pours water on her face. Maggie doesn't respond.

Rick beings to perform CPR, by starting with chest compressions. Rick leans down and leans his lips against hers, blowing air into them. Rick repeats this process for a minute. "Come on Maggie, you can't just leave us! We need you!" said Rick, his voice beginning to break. "What would your father think giving up on us like this?!? COME ON!" Rick pauses for a moment to regain his breath. Before he can continue Abraham puts a gun to her head.

The whole group begins to utter cries of protest, and Glenn grabs his arm, howling with grief. "We have to shoot her before she turns into a walker!" said Abraham. "NO!" yelled Glenn, pulling against his arm. Abraham elbows him in the chest so he falls backwards. Abraham clicks and is about to pull the trigger when another gun clicks. Rick is holding his gun to the back of Abraham's head. Abraham glares in the distance. "Are you sure you want to do that, Rick?" Abraham asked. "We don't that unless we're absolutely sure. She still has a pulse." Glenn holds Maggie close to him, to sobbing. The rest of the group is watching Rick and Abraham with horror.

Abraham reflexively head-butts Rick in the face, then uses his opportunity to grab Rick's arm and pull it back so the gun goes off. It temporarily blows out Abraham's right ear drum, causing everything to ring. Rick and Abraham tussle, and Abraham begins harmfully pinching Rick's bad leg. Rick screams in pain. Michonne and Tyreese pull Abraham off Rick, and Rick springs at him, Bob and Carl hold him back, leaving him to struggle to try and get out. All of a sudden, Maggie begins couching and gasps for air. This makes all of them stop and look towards Glenn, Maggie weakly brushes Glenn's face with her fingers and Glenn sobs with relief. Rick gives Abraham a dark look.
