"Well I have to say it. If you promise not to freak out and just do as I say?" she nods and starts to take of his saddle. "I found a competition for good class show jumpers and I talked to your father. He agreed that it would be a good idea to let you compete." She faced him and the saddle slid out of her grip. Dallas looked at the saddle when it landed on the ground. He then turned back to his food not caring what the two humans discussed.
"But what about the exam? I don't have time."
"You're a good rider and I'm sure that if we just change the training a bit. You'll be able to pass the exam and compete and get a good ranking." Leila felt her cheeks burn and turned to lift up the saddle. "When you're done I'll drive you home."
The book laid on the table and threw words at Leila's face. Not a word was understandable. How was she supposed to know if it was a physical or chemical change? All the numbers and the chemical formulas was placed in the "forget it" folder straight after reading it hundred times. This wasn't going to work.
She could hear her name reaching for her ear. She looked around but couldn't see anyone who tried to contact her. She sighed and turned back to read. Just as she thought she could continue in peace, some books slammed down on the table in front of her. A little squeak escaped her mouth and she looked up to see Evangelina laughing.
"So how was the stable yesterday?" Leila didn't have to think twice, she understood the brunette just wanted to hear about Peter or the other stable guys. They started to chat a little before they turned into silence and faced their books.
Some minutes of silence Leila opened her mouth. She shut it fast and thought over it. Was it really a point on telling her? Well if she didn't she would just kill her.
"Peter drove me home yesterday." And here comes the regret.
"Really? What did you do? Was he like boys in the movies? Was it like the movies?" She didn't have to look up from her book for knowing the female's smile was too wide for her face.
"He talked about the competition and we decided a new training schedule." Completely ignoring the last questions, she closed her book and looked at the clock. They continued chatting towards the classrooms. They said 'good bye' and Leila went into the chemistry room.
The security glasses pressed at her head and she sighed. The long white coat made her feel like a nurse. Except she made deadly experiments and played with fire. She had to smile at the thought. Comparing a nurse to a whatever she was, was maybe too much. She dripped the nitric acid in the bottle with a tiny copper piece. She looked at how the bottle filled with some green bubbles and the orange gas.
Leila sat inside the saddle room writing down everything she had to practice on. Taking a last look over the chemical formulas, she closed her eyes. Repeated it in her head sometimes. She opened her eyes finding the place where her book laid empty. What? She rubbed her eyes and opened them again. The book laid there with the same page open.
"What are you doing?" her body shot up from the stool and she turned. Peter looked at her before laughing. "I made so much noise when I came in here. Didn't you hear me?"
"No. You scared me." Her voice faded and she looked down at the book.
"I saw. Get the bridle on Dallas, we're going for a ride in the forest."
"But shouldn't we train in the riding hall?"
"You need fresh air. Pluss there is a lot of fallen trees, rivers and other things to jump." She nods and places the books back inside her backpack.
Peter was right. She needed fresh air, Dallas too. She could feel how much his muscles relaxed under her. She turned her head to look at the blonde male and smiled. He seemed to really like being in the forest. Closed eyes and his hand slowly petting his horse. It made her happy seeing him like that.
Leila got Dallas to start trotting, and then he got him to canter. Looking behind, she could see he was gone. She leaned forward, and Dallas continued faster. She could hear his horse's hoofs, and then they got up to their side. Dallas didn't want the gelding to be faster than him, and started to galop faster down the path.
Leila started laughing as Peter swore. As the two horses stomp their way down the path in full speed, Leila kept on looking behind her. She turned back to see a fallen tree over the path. She grabbed his mane and he jumped. It was like a dream.
The feeling of jumping outside was so much better. Also when you had someone to ride with. She had to thank Peter for this.
(I thought that posting one or two parts everyweek. Depends on if I have time or feeling to write. :D)
