Unpredictable Love

Chapter 2

Time flew by fast. The classes wizzed by me in what seems like a matter of seconds. Of course I know that later in the year I'm going to dread being here... but I'm just going to enjoy the days as they go by. I didn't have anymore classes with Matt, but I did with Lisa and Sarah. We were in health, History, and science, and let me tell you, that was tons of fun! Us girls can relate to things so easily. We get each other , we joke around, we laugh at the silliest things! I kept on forgetting where my locker was...I was late to chemistry because my books fell out of my hands in the hallway, ON THE SECOND FLOOR. That made me mad too. First day...bad reputation with teachers...that means I'm not going to get any grace with them,but here I finally am.lunch time! As I used to say when I was a kid, "lunch time is my favorite period." And I don't disagree one bit. Food is apart of life, it makes the world go round, sure it is not received by everyone, but that is why it is a blessing. Now that's enough about food! I'm going to drool right in the middle of the hallway if I don't get these tempting thoughts out of my head.
I walk to the lunch room, which is connected to the commons, and search for Lisa and Sarah. Its extremely crowded, the lunch line reaches all the way to the bathroom door, which is at the on opposite side of the commons. I get pushed and jostled, its really annoying, but I hear a voice scream by name.
LISA:"BEVERLY!!"
Lisa is calling me...and really loud...all eyes in the room turn to me. I am the center of attention, great...
Lisa realized that everyone was looking at me. Her face went from happy to embarrassed.
LISA:"Uh.. this isn't any of your guys business. Look away!"
Surprisingly, everyone did. I walk to her, people have forgotten I've exist apparently. Its really hard for me to get by, but I eventually reach her.
BEVERLY:"Hey Lisa.."
LISA:"Hi sweetie...sorry I embarrassed you, I was just happy to see you!"
BEVERLY:"I understand. Its a good thing really, if you didn't yell, I don't think I would be able to find you!"
We both laugh.
BEVERLY:"So... where's Sarah?"
LISA:"she's in the front of the line. She got out earlier than I did"
BEVERLY:" Do you guys have a lot of classes together?"
LISA:" We have most classes, but not all. The only class we don't have with each other is with Miss. Leonard."
BEVERLY:"Do you both happen to have Mr. Jones class? That's the class about mythology I'm pretty sure..."
LISA:"I sure am in that class! And so is Sarah. Ive been taking that course for two years now, and every year it just gets better and better! Anyone who takes his course is definitely in the same class, he only has one a day. That's why he gets the big auditorium for a room."
BEVERLY:" It sounds so interesting! I've never heard of a mythology class before, there was no way I could miss out on it!"
LISA:" Yeah... whats even more interesting is the teacher..."
BEVERLY:" What do you mean?"
She gives me a cheeky smile and leans towards me to whisper...
LISA:" Mr. Jones is ultra mega sexy. Ive had a crush on him ever since I got here..."
BEVERLY:" BAH HA HA!!"
I laugh hysterically at her remark. She leans back a little, some people turn and look at us, which makes Lisa blush, and I shoo them off with a flick of the wrist.
BEVERLY:"well I cant wait to meet him then!"
We finally reach the front of the line, and go sit down. Sarah saved us some seats in the back of the room, but before I reached the table, I felt a hand grab my arm. I turn around a little afraid because I don't want another Loan situation.
MATT:"Hey Beverly"
BEVERLY:"Hi Matt! You startled me there a bit, I thought you were going to be Loan."
MATT:"Hell no. I'm Matt, and that's all ill ever want to be... so how are you?"
BEVERLY:"I'm good! I was just about to sit down with Lisa and Sarah."
MATT:" Cool. Can i come sit with you?"
BEVERLY:"Don't you want to sit with your friends?"
MATT:"Nah. I rather just hang out with you."
I smile with satisfaction, and we go sit down. When we reach the table, Sarah and Lisa look at me with surprised faces.
BEVERLY:"Hey guys, can Matt sit with us?"
LISA:"Of course he can!"
Lisa has a wide smile across her face.
LISA:"So Matt... what's going on with you?"
MATT:"Nothing much. Just the usual taking care of my brother kind of thing..."
BEVERLY:"Wait... you guys know each other?"
LISA:"Yeah! Ive known Matt since the seventh grade. Matts such a sweet friend, even if he never stops talking..."
MATT:"Hey! I only talk a lot because you ask me a billion questions!"
SARAH:" Ahem..."
MATT:" Oh... hey Sarah, I didn't see you there. How are you?"
SARAH:" I'd be doing great if you two would stop bickering."
MATT:"Come on! You know we're just messing with each other."
SARAH:"Yeah I know..."
Sarah looks at me and shakes her head left to right.
SARAH:"Those two are something else... but he seems to like you as well. He never brings another girl to introduce to his friends."
BEVERLY:"We are just friends. I met him in Miss.Beesley's class. He had a friendly smile across his face when I came to sit down."
SARAH:"He really is a sweet person. I'm glad you got to meet him."
I turn back to Matt and ask him about his self.
BEVRLY:"Matt, you said you had a brother?"
MATT:"Yeah... his name is Daryl. He's usually on the second floor with his buds, probably skipping class and checking on girls."
BEVERLY:" Is he older than you?"
MATT:"yeah, but only by nine months. We are both Juniors in high school, but of course I'm the one to get the better grades."
BEVERLY:"Your a Junior! I thought we were in the Same grade! I'm only a Freshman, but I'm older than most, that's why I can drive."
LISA:"Really! I thought we were in the Same grade as well! Sarah and I are also Juniors."
MATT:"I was wondering why you looked so adorable."
He gives me a stupid smile.
MATT:"Any-who. I don't care what grade your in."
This sentence reassures me. I'm glad Matt isn't one of those guys who stops talking to you just because your age.
The bell rings and I start to head to my last class. I quickly grab my books, and head up stairs. Its really rowdy, there seems to be a lot of guys up here, I even see a couple making out by the lockers. I try to stay clear of everyone, making myself least known as possible, but just to my luck, a group of boys pass me and stop me.
The guy in the front has long blonde hair that shines in the sunlight, he has eyes that seem to be the color of brown and red combined, and he wears a earring on his left ear.
GUY:"Hey there little thing, you must be new here. It would be really hard to miss a beauty like you walking all alone in the hallways."
BEVERLY:"I don't have time for this, I have to get to class, so if you excuse me please move!"
I try to pass him, but he gets in my way.
GUY:"Hold on little thing, I didn't even get to introduce myself. My names Drogo."
BEVERLY:"Nice to meet you Drogo. Now let me go by!"
DROGO:"Playing hard to get I see...Ok, Ill let you go."
I don't even hesitate and I zip by him rushing to class. When I get inside, I sit in the back of the room and lay my head on the desk.
Forty Five minutes later class ends, and a wave of relief rushes through my body.
I walk through the doors to leave and head to my car. I hear someone call my name from behind me.
MATT:"Beverly,Wait up!"
He's coming to me with his hands behind his back.
MATT:"I have something for you."
He pulls out a key chain with a piece of wood that has my name engraved in it.
He hands it to me smiling, I bet he feels really satisfied with himself.
MATT:"I made this for you in wood shop. I felt like you needed something to cheer you up since your day has been kinda shitty."
BEVERLY:"Thank you so much Matt! You didn't have to do this for me...you really are super sweet."
MATT:"you deserve it. No girl should be treated with disrespect, and that's why I like you."
I can feel myself blush, so I look down.
BEVERLY:"Well I'm really happy I got to meet you Matt, I didn't think I was going to find any friends on the first day."
MATT:"Nonsense. Your a beautiful girl, anyone who doesn't want to be your friend is just jealous..."
BEVERLY:"Thank you Matt."
He leans in to give me a hug, then he smiles at me and leaves. I get into my car and turn it on. I just hope that none of the boys bother me tomorrow...
