2001 September 11
9/11, nobody saw it coming. Nobody could stop the events of this day; not America, not the police, not the army. The American people were traumatized. The body count was over a thousand, but that didn't stop the terrorists of the Western nations. One by one, several planes flew with each pilot having the same goal in mind. “I will be remembered. This day marks the birth of a new generation. One where we can fight, where we can stand up to the greatest superpower in the world and get away with it.” Soon after the first plane hit, the screams of not only the people trapped within the towers but also that of the pilot’s were heard that day leaving millions of people to wonder: “What do we do now? Who can save us? Who will protect us?” The firemen, ambulances, and police quickly came to the crime scene. There was no slowing down the local police from forming a blockade around the knocked piece of art they called the northern tower. “Ma’am, please back up!” “I have family in there!” said the youngish old lady. “There’s nothing we can do as of right now! Please stand back.” “GET BACK NOW!” he said as he swiftly knocked her out with his elbow. As for the rest of the first responders, they managed to climb the ruins of the northern tower in hopes to save all of the dying men and women. Running through the fires, the firemen called out “HELLO, IS ANYBODY HERE???”
In return, a loud troubled voice was screaming out “I’M HERE. SAVE ME!” “KEEP TALKING TO ME WHERE ARE YOU?” the fireman said. The voice faded as I could hear him say “I’m over here!” Startled and frozen up, I ran towards his fragile voice to help. When I arrived, I saw a man laying in the rubble of the inside of the World Trade Center. He was burnt really bad with 2nd degree burns covering his lower chest, face, hands, and legs. His face was filled with several cuts and burns like Anakin Skywalker!
He cried like a young boy innocent and pure “Save me!” I hesitated, baffled, not knowing what to do. I removed my oxygen mask and gave it to him. Now inhaling the thick black smog, I said “Save yourself! Find a way out!” while strapping my oxygen tank to his back. Praying was my only and final hope now. “God will save us.” I said in a calm stressful voice. The second plane hit. The tower trembled, and everybody there knew the tower was on its last leg. By 5:20 that evening, the entire World Trade Center had collapsed!
Early 2002s
“Gentlemen, we all know how this war started. Today we stand on the breaking point of the war. The rest of our squadrons have been wiped out from the earlier ambush with the Afghan terrorists. We are all that remains of the hundreds of men who came with us.”
“We are the final knights of this battle here. Today we must storm the main gate so reinforcements can make it through once they arrive. SQUAD LEADER WHAT DO WE HAVE LEFT TO FIGHT WITH!?” Jerry the squad leader immediately responded “M16s, M18s , Armour piercing bullets, twenty men and seven IFAKs.”
“Each of them is also equipped with stainless steel Rite Edge knives as a secondary weapon retrieved from the dead Afghan terrorists from our earlier encounter and along with C4 and two locked crates SIR!!!” “Two locked crates you say bring them here.” One box seemed to be much heavier than the other. At least that's what they said as they carried it over. Once the boxes were in front of me, I quickly pulled my nine millimeter out of my back pocket and aimed at the lock.
“EVERYBODY GET DOWN!” said the squad leader Jerry as I shot the locks off the metal crates. “OPEN THEM UP! FIND OUT WHAT'S INSIDE!!!” The boxes sat on the hard sand while the gunners opened them. “THERE ARE A BUNCH OF VESTS AND LEAD PLATING IN THESE. EVERYBODY GRAB ONE AND PUT IT OVER YOUR BDUs TO INSURE YOUR SAFETY AGAINST THE TERRORIST!” After they did that, it was time to learn the troops’ names and ranks. “LINE UP!!! WE'LL GO DOWN THE ROW, SAY YOUR NAME, RANK, AND FUNCTION STARTING WITH YOU!!!!”
