"Hey," Paige said from the bathroom, "can I do your hair?"

I get up from the bed and lean on the door frame giving her an 'are-you-freaking-kidding-me?' look.

She shrugs. "I'm hopeful." And she goes back to straighttening her hair. I see her keep glancing at me in the mirror though. Ugh.

"Fine." I give in.

She squeals with joy. I check the clock. It reads 5:45.

"How long will this take exactly?" I ask as I step in front of her when she's done with her hair.

"I'm just going to french braid it really fast." She says as she grabs the brush and proceeds to rip my hair out.

"Ow, ow, ow, ow." I complain.

"Suck it up you little whiny baby." She laughs.

So I know I don't usually like people but Paige is one of the exceptions. She is seriously my best friend. I've known her since I was in the 6th grade. I was getting bullied by some punks behind the school. She, being the amazing person she is, stood up to them for me. She taught me to have a backbone, in the metaphorical sense of course. We were basically inseperable after that, still are actually. Seven years later and we're still best friends.

Once she was done, she decided what she was gonna wear. She decided on a simple white long sleeved t-shirt with purple skinny jeans and a pair of black Toms. I went with something twice as simple; a black t-shirt with my gray sweatpants. That's how much I care.

"Annabeth, pumpkin, please at least wear some jeans or a scarf or something. You look like a hobo." I can't help but laugh. She tells me that all the time. Hobo is practically her nickname for me.

"Pick a scarf, and I'll see if I like it. Is that a good deal?" I ask raising my eyebrows at her.

She stands there for a second and contemplates. "Fine." She says, "But I'll keep picking new ones until you like one."

I smirk and say, "Well, I only have like three scarves so have fun."

"Oh, I will."

-------------------------------

I ended up picking a light blue tie-dyed scarf which Paige was happy about. I wasn't happy about it.

We had looked up on the computer the hotel that was down the street from Starbucks. Thank God it was the only hotel down the street. Well, thank God for Paige. She was really excited about going. But, to be honest, I kind of was too. Even though that guy was a total douche bag, he was still insanely attractive, and I was not about to pass that up. I didn't say that. Seriously, guys. Just ignore me because I didn't just say that. Like, why would I say that? I didn't like the guy.

We walked out towards Paige's car and hopped in.

"Do you think his friends will be as attractive as him because I swear if they are, I might die." She gushed.

"He wasn't that cute." I muttered. "He was average at best."

She stared at me in shock, and I just rolled my eyes. "Eyes on the road, Paige."

She shrieked and slammed on her brakes because of the car stopping in front of us.

I freaked out. "How did you even manage to pass your drivers test?" She shrugged.
