Chapter 1

"If there's one thing I hate" I

mumbled to myself
"It's moving to another city".
Sunlight poured through the tinted screen of dad's car and fell on my journal and I. The sound of the moving vehicles dulled in my head. Though we had only been on the road for an hour or so after the tiresome flight which made me jet lagged.

For one fanciful moment, I buried my face in my palm, imagining myself in San Francisco cuddled in Lilac's big fourposter. The Italian linen sheets would smell ever so slightly of lilac. In Lilac's airy pastel bedroom where we always had our sleepovers, the curtains would be drawn against the harsh October sun and the lights turned on brightly with us sited on the large love sites situated in front of the plasma TV. I always wondered where lilac got all the money she spent because she lives alone.

With a grunt, I opened up the door and came out of the car as dad packed in the garage of our new home. Now that we had arrived,I couldn't hear anything not even the evening chirping of birds or cricket. The house was cream coloured with lavender coloured pillars and roof. It was absolutely stunning, but there was a creepy sense to it like danger.

The building was surrounded with forest which entranced and freaked the hell out of me.
" do you like it, violet "dad asked
" of course, it's better than the house we owned in San Francisco "I said putting more enthusiasm in my voice than I felt
" violet dear,I know this isn't what you really wanted but we all gotta accept change "Dad said hugging me,always knowing my through phase.
" I know but it's just too far from Leo and lilac and I'll miss mum"dad tensed at the mention of mum but I'm not the type to console.

I left him standing there and went into the house. The interior is incredible,i ran upstairs to check my room. I was speechless when I entered, it had the best view to the forest. It had a royal purple fourposter that looked so comfy with a lamp beside it ,it had a medium shelf for books and a study table with a computer on it that I'm sure is internet connected.

I turned to a door and opened it and omg it's a freaking walk-in closet which I started filling with my clothes. It also had a full length standing mirror and a vanity table which I filled with my cosmetics. I checked out the bathroom when I was done and I'm like wow.

"Do you like it" I didn't notice when dad entered
"I love it dad and I'm quite sorry for how I sounded earlier" I apologized hugging him tightly
"It's okay I understand......Violet,you're gonna choke me" he sounded strained.

I got the name Violet because of my eyes,weird right? but dad said it was special and I also have a weird cross arrow symbol under my butt.
"Sorry" I said releasing him
"I ordered pizza,you're coming down right"
"Yup"
"See you then" he said as I shut the door.

I went to the balcony and sat on the small beanbag there as I phoned lilac
"Hey lil" I said as she picked on the second ring
"Hey Val, I'm already missing you"
"Me too" I replied solemnly, although I'd gotten comfortable in my room with my things already arranged.

I missed San Francisco. The cool air of the night as the moon poured through my window. The neighbourhood, the school, the busy street as everybody rushed to their daily activities. The park and it's magnificent playgrounds, the ice cream parlors. I just missed everything, I sighed.

"I wanna hear everything" I described the house, my room and the neighbourhood which was quiet and had this safe and creepy sense to it.
"That's cool, I envy you babe" I chuckled with humour
"You envy me? You're pulling my legs right! Your house is larger than anything and you live alone" I said teasingly as she laughed.

"I'm scared lil........I don't really know why, maybe it's the environment, new school but I got this itchy feeling that things are gonna change for bad or good, I don't know"
"Val just be yourself. The changes might be positive, you've gotta stop being uptight and guarded it's not everyone that's out to hurt you ya know and trying to keep your mouth shut unless it's needed can be a start " she chuckled good naturedly trying to lighten the mood.

"You know I'm an outspoken person but I'll try my best, I'll miss you greatly lil" I said warily
"Don't worry chicken after this month I'll move to Mexico,I just need to get my papers right"
"Really you're gonna do that......for me" I said bouncing on the beanbag excitedly.

"Ya if it's for you but don't be so expectant I might arrive later than that"
"Omg lil that's why I love you so much"
"If I can get those 3 words often from you then it's worth it" she said as we giggled
"I gotta go, greet Leo and tell him to keep his eyes and hands off guys" I said grinning
"He's interested in a guy he met back home" she said disgusted
"I'll call him to hear further goodnight"
"Goodnight"
       Leo didn't live with his parents because he thinks they're over protective and he needed his privacy, so he moved into a condo.

It was almost time for dinner, I sat there looking at the forest admiring the greenery and wondering why they hadn't cut it down then I heard a rustle. I stood up and went closer, there were a pair of bright coal eyes staring back at me and to my surprise.......it was a wolf.

I wanted to scream but my voice was lost to me, this wolf was abnormally larger than the normal sized wolf. it was a large brown wolf with white at the tip of it's ears, paws, and tail.

I blinked to be sure I wasn't dreaming and when i opened my eyes i saw nothing. It was like déjà a vu. Like I had a dream similar to this but in that case, there where a lot of wolves and two stood out with me and a little guy in the middle. I can't quite remember but there was a lot of attack and a lot of wolves died but after that all else was foggy. Dad broke my reverie

"Violet I've been calling you " he said concerned
"ummm ....... sorry, I didn't hear you " I said trying to gather my thoughts
"It's time for dinner "
"I'll be right down I just need to change " I said distracted
"OK " he left

I felt dejected, i don't know why but I felt this kind of connection to the wolf and that bordered me, it also had a strange shade of coal eyes (scary type) if I tell my dad he'll freak out, maybe it's my imagination, right?

I sighed, then changed into a big white shirt and a very -short short to be comfortable. I went downstairs sluggishly, the flight was taking a toil on me. We had pepperoni pizza and lasagna with blue berry pie (my favorite) I did the dishes then went upstairs and I slouched to my inviting bed and cuddled my teddy.
