It’s so early in the morning; I don’t even know why I’m at school. I sit down in the empty hallway, put my ear buds in, and dig into my bag for my IPod. As soon as I log in, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I yelped and look up to find my boyfriend, Trevor, smiling down at me.
“Oh my god, you scared me. What are you doing here?” I asked startled.
“I knew you would be here, so I decided to surprise you.”
He leaned down and kissed me with his soft lips. I smiled back up at him. As I go back to my laptop, he sat down next to me and put his hand on my thigh. I laid my head down on his shoulder as I searched for my essay that I have been writing for the past three days. It’s due tomorrow and I’m almost done. It’s 7:30 and first period doesn’t start until 8:05. I really don’t like school but I’m actually looking forward to first period. I love going to English, it’s my favorite class. Today, we are supposed to be presenting our group project, and I am excited to show my PowerPoint to the class.
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. It’s a text from my crazy best friend, Nicole.
Nicole: ‘Hey Ang, where r u?’
Me: ‘I’m upstrs on 2nd floor, w. Trevor’
She doesn’t text back, so I assume she’s on her way up. I looked over at Trevor, who seems to be falling asleep. I smile and put my laptop down. I turned over to him and gave him a big kiss on the cheek. His eyes fluttered open as I laugh mockingly at him.
“Tired much, babe?”
“Yeah, didn’t get much sleep last night,” he responded.
“Why not?” I asked concerned.
“I was up talking to Tyler all night.”
“Umm, okay?”
“It’s not like that,” he chuckled, “He was just going on and on about this girl that he likes so much but he wouldn’t say her name. All I know is that she goes to our school and she’s, supposedly, really pretty.”
“Wow, well I hope he’s happy and he can get this mystery girl... Wait a minute doesn’t he go out with Arianna?”
“Yeah, but he wants to break up with her. Don’t tell Arianna.”
“Aww, that sucks, but I promise I won’t tell.”
I pretended to zip my lips and throw away the key.
I giggled. Trevor snuggled next to me and laid his head on my lap. I stroke his head as he peacefully closed his eyes. I heard footsteps coming down the hall and look up again. As expected, I saw bubbly and happy Nicole walking towards us.
“Hey, Boo Bear,” she greets me.
“Hey, sweetie pie.”
“Hey, Trevor.”
“Hey, Nicki,” he said with his eyes still closed.
“So, what are you lovebirds talking about?” Nicki pondered.
“How Trevor likes to have late night chats with Tyler.”
Nicole busted out laughing.
“Dang, T, bouncing to the other team on Angela already, bro. That’s cold.”
Trevor started laughing with her and got up from my lap.
“It’s not like that. He’s my best friend and all. You guys know that,” he stated.
“Uh huh, whatever you say, lover boy,” Nicole said sarcastically.
“So…why are you here, you little devil?” Trevor asked.
