Chapter 1

**Chapter One**

Can summer just hurry up. I am so exited for summer to come in just 3 weeks!, me and my family are going to Australia for the whole two months of summer !! Of course I'm not to exited about the whole going with my family part, but I'm hoping I'll meet some friends while I'm there to keep me busy.

Currently I'm siting in first period which is science were learning about organs in the body, I'm 17 years old and in grade 11, you'd think after I got out of elementary school they would stop teaching us the location of the organs, I'm pretty sure I know where my lungs, heart and brain are ugh. "Okay class arrange yourself into groups of three or four, were doing an activity" Mrs. Aulder says, I automatically look at my two of my friends in the class, Mary and Heather we all knew we would partner up.

I didn't really like my science class tho since I didn't have any good friends in it, I just have Mary and heather whom I met this year and they are the only people I talk to in this class but we don't talk outside of class so I don't know them that well.

"One person in the group come up and grab an instruction sheet, and other person comes up to grab a large piece of paper and someone come grab some markers" Mrs. Aulder says so we decided heather would grab the instructions Mary would grab the paper and I'd grab the markers. "You can work in the hallway if you'd like" Mrs. Aulder told us. "Do you guys wanna work in the hall? because it says we need to trace someone so we need some space to lay the paper down" heather says. "Sure" Mary and I say at the same time.

we had the body traced. Which was mine because I was the smallest out of all of them. I am 5ft and I have always been really skinny, I'm a dancer and play soccer so I have abs and am toned while Mary is kinda chubby but her long dark hair makes her looks really pretty, I have always envied her hair, my hair is long too but not as long as hers and mine is blonde.

"The next step is to draw where we think the brain, lungs, heart, liver, intestines and bladder are" heather told us. That's easy. Once we finished drawing the parts we outlined them in black and colored them in different colors and made a legend. It looked nice for a diagram of the human body's organs. We handed our sheet into mrs. Aulder and soon after that the bell rung.

I made my way down the hall and waited at my best friend Taya's locker. It was awkward because her boyfriend Adam got there before she did "hey, where's the slowpoke?" I asked him awkwardly. Me and him don't get that much of time to ever talk like friends do so we aren't close like she is with my boyfriend. Before I started dating Gunner all three of us were best friends so Taya is really close to Gunner.

"I don't know. Being slow" Adam says. Soon enough I spotted her coming towards her locker. Thank god. "Hey baby, sorry my teacher needed a talk" she says looking at Adam. They hugged and I took my time to study them. They were cute much cuter then me and Gunner, you probably wouldn't think I was dating him when you saw us. We act much more like friends then partners. "Wanna walk with me to math?" I ask Taya "sure, coming Adam?" She asks him. I look at Adam, he's cute not to be weird but he has short blonde hair and bright blue eyes he looks good with Taya she has long dirty blonde hair and big green eyes and she's just a little taller then me by an inch or two. It makes them look cute because he's really tall

They start to walk me to my math class and I say bye to them when I get there. My seat in math is beside an exchange student from France who I've become good friends with. His name is Peirre, but we just call him Peter. "Bonjour" I say as I take my seat next to him "hello Karyssa" he says "how was your weekend" I ask him as it's currently Monday. "Good I-" he was cut of by our teacher Mr. Allen saying good morning and the rest of the class mumbling it back. Today was the math test. Shit. I forgot

"Did you study Di?" I whisper to my friend Diana who sits on the other side of me "no" she laughs "did you study Peter" I ask him and he nods. He is so smart and he always helps me out when I don't understand something, which is pretty much all the time

"Class, put away your binders and pull out a pencil and a calculator " Mr allen tells us. I hope I'll be fine with this test on Trigonometry, it should be easy as long as I remember SOH CAH TOA, sin law and cos law which I do. Mr. Allen hands out the tests and I begin easily.

I finish the test with 10 minuets left. Peter handed his in like half an hour ago and Di handed hers in just 10 min after he did. "How do you think you did" Di asked me "okay" I answered slowly making a hopeful face. "How was it" I asked Peter. "It wasn't hard at all" peter answered his thick French accent clearly showing. I found it so cute

I know I have a boyfriend but I'm allowed to think things like that Because nothing will come between me and Gunner I'm happily with him.

The bell rings and I run to my locker to meet Gunner because it's now lunch as I was walking down the hall my locker was in I quickly looked down at my phone after it vibrated and I accidentally bumped Into someone "shit. Sorry" I said as I looked up at the person. Fuck. "Ya I guess" Hannah Hedrings said, she was the popular girl and quite a bitch too. "I'm really sorry, I didn't even see you" I told her as I looked at her. She wore a bright pink low cut top exposing her boobs that stopped half way so you can see her pierced belly and she wore too tight dark jean shorts and a sparkly belt her bleached hair was perfectly curled and braided on one side and she wore far too much makeup. "Ya whatever just don't do it again" she told me. I glanced over he shoulder and saw Gunner half smiling at us. I said sorry and bye and walked away to meet Gunner

"Hey cutie pie" he said and greeted me with a kiss to my cheek. "Talk about cute" I said and looked him up and down. He wore blue jean shorts worn a little low with a belt and a black tank top showing his muscles he has spiked blonde hair that I just Love so much. "What was that all about back there" he asked obviously referring to my encounter with Hannah. "Oh nothing really I just accidentally bumped into her and she flipped her shit at me" I explained and he laughed "don't laugh she's an ugly bitch" I said a little pissed off about her "she's actually pretty hot" he blurted out probably by accident because I saw his eyes widen right after he said that. "Um nevermind, Shall we" he said holding out his hand, I took it and brushed off his comment about Hannah because all guys are like that, I know Gunner would never leave me for her because If he actually got to know her he would realize she's an ugly mean girl. So we walked off to the plaza where we usually go to get pizza or fries whatever we feel like.

School went by pretty fast me and Gunner went to the Chinese place for lunch. It was really good. We shared noodles and sesame chicken. Forth period is English which was a "reading day" so I just watched videos on my phone and last period is art and I worked on my painting of a sun set in watercolor, everyone is doing it in the class it's our assignment. I really like art that's why I've taken it 3 years in a row and I've gotten pretty good at it. When I go to Australia I'm gonna bring my paint set and go to a local park and paint some scenery.

The last period bell rung I walked down the hall to my locker and grabbed the stuff I needed for homework and put the unwanted stuff into my locker. I looked for any of my friends that could possibly give me a ride home, I couldn't find any of them so I decided to just take the bus.

The week went by pretty fast, I ended up with a 76% on the math test which is pretty good for me, today is now Monday and this week is moratorium which means the teachers can't assign any work or homework and they can only give us review sheets for the exams that start after the weekend on Monday and after that it's summer and I get to leave for Australia, my first time ever in Australia!
