About a month past and everything seemed to be fine with me and Breanna. I didn’t suspect anything unusual or anything, but then she texted me to come over because she needed to talk. Whenever someone tells me “We need to talk.” I get nervous. I didn’t know what to except going over her house. I took my car and drove over as fast as I could. I knew she needed to talk to me about something bad. When I got there I saw her sitting outside with her best friend Sammie, just crying. I looked at Sammie confused. I didn’t know why she was crying. When I sat down next to Breanna, I gave Sammie a look and she went inside. I held Breanna tight and asked her why she was crying. She looked me in the eyes and said those 2 words that changed my life forever. “I’m pregnant.” So many thoughts were running through my head. WHAT! How could this happen to me? It was our first time. I know I forgot the condom, but I didn’t think she would actually get pregnant. I’m too young for this. I’m a senior in high school. I want to go to college. I want a life, not a kid. I looked at her and didn’t know what to say. All I could say was that we can get through this. “Don’t worry baby. Everything with be okay. We can get through this. It’ll work out.” I gave her a kiss and told her I’d help her tell her parents. I knew we couldn’t keep this a secret from them. They’re the most important people in her life. We got up and went straight inside. We told her parents to sit down and just listen.

“Mom, Dad, we need to talk.”

“What is it sweety?”

Breanna started to break out in tears, so I had to take over.

“Mr. and Mrs. Prata, Breanna is pregnant. I know what you’re thinking, but just here us out.”

“We’re listening.”

“It was a mistake. It’s my fault not hers. Be mad at me, but I’m not leaving her. I’m not giving up on what we have. There’s going to be bump in the roads, and this is just one of them. Yes, I know we have a life ahead of us, and I know I may not be ready to have a baby. But I’m not giving my child up.”

Breanna looked at me shocked. I didn’t know what she was thinking. Everyone was silent and I had no idea what to think. Finally Breanna’s mom said something.

“Okay.”

That’s it? That’s all she had to say? Okay? IS THIS A JOKE? BECAUSE I’M NOT LAUGHING. I look at Breanna and she looks at me. This went better than I thought it would.
