Cheerleading! Cheerleading was the last thing Cheryl wanted to do right now. The vixens, they never listened. She didn't think so anyway. She was happy that Josie McCoy, JOSIE MCCOY, was joining the river vixens. Cheryl knew that she felt something for Josie, ever since that night with Nick. "Cheryl, Stop!" She said to herself as she attempted to push the incident out of her mind.
Cheryl walked into the middle of the gym and waited for the vixens. They were all there except for Veronica, Betty and Josie. Veronica and Betty walked in late, as Cheryl had guessed that they might do that. They apologised to Cheryl but she wasn't having it. "It had better be a good reason this time, try not to bore me with your lame excuses!" The iconic duo stood silently in front of Cheryl, not wanting to start anything. They knew that they would regret it.
As Josie waltzed in, approximately five minutes after B&V, Cheryl had to try her hardest not to stare at her. She pretended to fix her hair so that she had something else to focus on.
All of a sudden an announcement came over the loudspeaker. "Attention all students! South side High has been closed down due to investigations. I'd like you to welcome our new students!" Cheryl rolled her eyes a little but then realised what Principle Wetherbee had said. She gulped when she thought about the serpents mixing with the northsiders. All of a sudden, the face of a girl popped into Cheryl's mind. She thought of the race... and the serpents who were there.
A short brunette with pink highlights entered the gym... in the cheerleading uniform! She folded her arms as she walked towards Cheryl. "Okay Red, let's get one thing straight." It was ironic, because the pink haired girl wasn't straight. "I don't want to be here, I've been forced to be one of these girly girls that flip and twirl all over the place in front of people. I'm not gonna do that. So if you don't mind, I'm just going to sit in the bleachers and pretend to be interested." Cheryl was stunned. She was speechless. She smirked to herself as the girl tried to walk away. Cheryl stopped her and held out her hand for the girl to shake it. "Hello, I'm riverdale high's resident 'It girl', Cheryl Blossom. And you are?"
It took a couple of seconds before the girl unfolded her arms and rolled her eyes before gripping Cheryl's hand gently, "Toni, Toni Topaz. You might remember me as Cha Cha" Cheryl definitely remembered. After the race she couldn't stop thinking about this girl. Now she knew her name.
"Hello? Earth to Blossom..." Cheryl found herself staring at Toni, daydreaming. What was she thinking? Toni chuckled quietly and walked over to the bleachers and sat down, watching the redhead's every move. As Cheryl got everybody into their positions, she went over their latest routine. She began to forget about Toni until she spotted her twirling her hair and looking around the gym very boredly. Cheryl told the vixens to practice while she went over and stood in front of Toni.
