Pushing Back the Darkness was a story about a girl (Layla, who then becomes sapphire), who becomes the Sapphire crystal warrior. 12 warriors are chosen to protect the earth from "nightmares", creatures created by the God of nightmares to torture humans and turn them evil. I got through about 1/2 of the story, but I soon realized I had no idea where I was going, so the plot was a big mess. Don't know If I will ever get back to it.
