The Hunt

Chapter One

Rena POV
"You want me to what?!" I exclaimed with my mind stop from what the councils had said. "Yes you are tasked to escort the El master of Wind to sign the peace treatment in Elrios and to bring you both back safely." The Elder repeated as I chocked those words out with a heavy heart. "I, Rena will accept this quest for the peace of both humans and us elves in the world of Elrios."
I didn't dare to look back up, not that I know right now how heavy is this quest.

After I was escorted out from the hall by a fairy, I walked my way out of the place without seeing the El master at all. To my surprise I saw a man with bright yellow hair, a pair heterochromia eyes, one blue and one white and his arms had markings on them dimly glowed in green. He approach to me in a flirty manner, he kissed the back of my hand and greeted me.
"My my young lady you have a beautiful face, can you tell me your name?" He asked while not letting my hand go. I slowly and gently pulled my hand back and replied, "My name is Rena. What is your name sir?" He smiled back and that moment he spoke his name, my heart almost pound into a heart attack. "Soran, Soran Ventus." He said with a smile but he noticed my unnatural behavior and patted my shoulder. "Calm down a little young lady, say why not we know each other more by going to the festival the locals are having for the summer?" He asked while getting closer towards my face. I was suppose to react like normal girls when they see him, red flustered face, stuttered words and all sorts of cute but I did what made me special,

I slapped him.

"Thank you for your offer but if you want to flirt and get very close to me when we just met, I suggest you to stay five feet back." I said while quickly walking out with the status turning their head towards me. I flashed a death glare at them as they quickly turn their heads back and I went back to my home to pack.

Ventus POV
I chuckled as she went out and walk back to my room when Lincy saw me covering my slapped face with my hand. Lincy started to scold me after she saw the slapped mark, I laughed it off while telling her about Rena without mentioning her name. "She was so different from the other ladies, she just slapped me when I tried to get close." I said while laughing. "Yeah that's a good thing she did or I'll slap you even harder than she did." She pouted and crossed her arms, I swore I heard her say "hmph" at the back. I started to laugh anyway from her behaviour but my mind really wants to track Rena down and bug her more for the festival since it'll be her last until we get the job done.
"Hey Lincy where's the ice...." I asked while rubbing my cheek. "Jeez you're so hopeless Soran." Lincy sighs while healing my cheek already.

The townsmen set up the booths, decorations, children were running around with laughter and soon they lit up the lights and the festival started. People from around the land gathered, even the creatures from the forests joined for the fun. It was a noisy night, filled with joy and laughter and many many couples were there. Rena walked into the streets with a smile, watching the scenery made her felt less lonely. She took her time to try the food, played all of the games and won herself many prizes and soon it was time for the fireworks. She wore a cloak and turn her head away from the place, missing it already.

She walked into the woods, near her home, far away from the joyful place. She put her stuff down below an old tree and smiled towards it and whispered a few things and climbed up to the highest branch that took her. She sat down and leaned towards the the side.

"Mother, father I've good news to tell you two. I've have an important mission to do tomorrow. A peace between us and Elrios, isn't that great? No more lives with be lost, we could expand our market, advance our technology....... So many possibilities so many hope all on my shoulders and I have to carry this out with Soran. Soran... He's an odd fellow, someine so opposite from me yet I could sense his power is pressing down mine. I want to learn like him, just by powers alone. I want to come home early and continue my life like this." She said while the fireworks were starting. She heard a sudden rustle from below as a saw that same yellow hair.

"I heard your conversation so here I am." He said while waving his hands up in the air. "I didn't ask for you to come, what do you want?" Rena asked as he chuckled and started to climb up. "I heard you call my first name Rena, I was really happy that you called me that. Now my turn to ask, what are you doing here alone, aren't you enjoying your last few moments here before we departure?" He asked as he sat down beside her but never too close not after what happened earlier. "I like this place more, its quiet, away from the people and my closeness to this sanctuary. The last thing to do before departure." She said as the fireworks started and painted the sky.

Her eyes were fixed on the scenery in front of her, Ventus's eyes were on her, slowly developing a mixed feelings in him. He turn his head towards the fireworks, will it be the last for them?
