"Hey, you kids alright?" A tall man in a navy blue suit with a tiny mustache came up to Sofie and the other boy, "What happened to those men? Why are you kids all bloody? Why is there a dead couple inside the house?" The police was not stopping to ask questions, but stopped himself soon after noticing that the parents were Sofie's and the men were assassins that killed them.

Seeing the two kids covered in blood, the man smiled and led them into the police car, "you've helped us with a crime, and it's all thanks to you guys." He said as he helped both of them into the car.

"Do you have at least one parent or guardian left?" The man asked them,

"I have a family." The boy said, "it's just that my mom was suppose to go over to help with Sofie's mom's sickness, but they opened the door thinking those assassins were my mom." He then stared at Sofie, "I'm sorry." He said.

Sofie smiled at him, "it's fine."

After awhile, the man drove them into an police department and called the boy's parents,"Hello? Mrs and Mr Woods? Yes this is the police, we've found your son. Please go to the address '1435 Camden Ave. San Jose CA 95120' thank you, thank you very much."

"What about Sofie?" The boy asked? "Can she come with us?"

"Only if your parents allow it, she'll count as your adoptive sister if your parents are kind-hearted enough." The man said, petting the boy's head.

"Hey..um..." Sofie said."I'm sorry but can you repeat your name again?"

"Sure, my name is Jeffrey, but you can call me Jeff, I like it better." He said.

"Thank you Jeff, for avenging my parents... I wish I could pay back the debt somehow..." Sofie said.

"No need to thank me, I'm the one that's suppose to say sorry, because of my parents, yours died." Jeff said.

"It was an accident so, it doesn't really matter."

"Hey bro, where have you been all the time? And why is there a girl?" A taller boy that looks like Jeff with a gray and black striped scarf came up to Jeff and Sofie,"why are you both covered in blood?"

"Jeff! We were so worried about you!" His mom said, hugging him.

"Who's the girl, Jeff? I'm telling you, you are too young to have girlfriends." His dad cried.

"SHE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIEND and it's that family that mom was suppose to go for her mom's disease." Jeff yelled.

"My mom's name is Megan Wasabi... Have you heard of her?" Sofie asked quietly,

"Oh, it's her... Where are they now?" Jeff's mom said.

"They were assassinated when they thought murderers that knocked on the door were you." Jeff said, looking sad, "now Sofie don't have parents anymore." Jeff added,

"Don't worry, she'll be ok, I think that the police can send her to an orphanage." The dad said.

"Dad, come on think about it, I mean. What harm can a girl to us in our family?" The older boy said to the dad, "have you read or seen the movie or the book 'Les Miserables?" Have you seen how cruel the little girl was treated?"

"Please, mom, you know she's been through a lot when her parents were killed right in front of her," Jeff said, begging now.

Sofie was just standing there, like she was a pet that someone wanted to buy so bad and is still hesitating to buy it.

"Ugh fine... What do you think, Peter, we can clean out the empty room in. The attic." The mom said,

The dad then nod his head heavily, and invited Sofie into the car, Sofie hugged the police officer and went into the van.
