First Birthday (part two)

           **One Year Later**
Dacre took Avery down stairs so I could actually wake up for once. After my coffee and muffin, I got a call from my sister. Avery babbled at her for a while before getting bored and moving on. As I talked, Dacre layed on the floor reading Avery a book called "Happy Birthday Baby". And yes, today marks one year for us as a family. Avery is now a full year old. My mom says i am too young to have a baby and she is quite upset about it. She says "At 23 you should not even consider a child. Its not like us (l/n)'s. To go and get pregnant that young." and everytime I tell her the same thing: that I am not a (l/n) anymore. I tell her that I am a Montgomery. "He said it!!" Dacre shouts. "He said 'daddy'!" Dacres's wide smile lightened the room. "Awwwww. He loves you honey." I replied.
   -TIME SKIP 1 HR FROM NOW-
My sister knocked on the door holding a large blue box and an additional bag at her side. "What's in the box?" I asked. "I picked up the cake for you. And these are for Avery." she nudged the bag and I took it from her and set it on the red-clothed table. "How are the boys? (Y/n), is mom coming?" she asked. "Not sure. I was thinking just you, Avery, Dacre and me today." she nodded and went to avery.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear avery, happy birthday to you." we sung in unison and the youngest Montgomery clapped his hands ferociously in excitment. Avery was mesmerized by the flames on the candles and he kept trying to touch them. At the end of the day, my sister left and Dacre and Avery were passed out on the carpet still half-holding "Happy Birthday Baby". I grabbed a small blanket from off the sofa and draped it over the two boys. I kissed their foreheads and took a few pictures before heading up the stairs and drifting into a peaceful sleep for the first time in what seemed like firever.
