*Sulgi's POV.*
This "camp" of his was really not that impressive. There was a log on the ground and a bunch of sticks in a pile. But that was it.
"Woow.. Nice.. campfire? Because that's supposed to be a campfire, right?" I asked while pointing towards the sad pile of sticks, lying on the sand. Jungkook folded his arms and nodded. He was clearly annoyed by my sarcasm.
"Yah! You wouldn't be able to do it better anyway." He spat. Oh wow, back to normal Jungkook, are we? "And the sticks were not easy to find! I needed to find very dry ones!"
I swallowed an incoming insult and kept my cool. Bickering with Jungkook was the last thing I needed.
"Yeah, okay we'll see about that.." I quietly said. Jungkook luckily didn't hear me. He sat down on the log and flashed me a smug smile.
"At least you can't complain about this perfect-for-sitting- log!" He said while propping his elbows on his knees. I picked up one of the sticks from the campfire and stuck it into the quite rotten log.
"Oh, I can." I said, while pulling back the stick which was now full of angry ants. "You might not want to sit on that.."
Jungkook was up and flying in the blink of an eye. He wiped his bottom hurriedly, not wanting to be bitten by the ferocious little insects. I struggled to keep myself from laughing. Jungkook gave me a murderous stare. I was definitely not getting on his good side.
"I'll give it to you though, it is a great spot for a camp to be built." I said while looking around. The cliff did provide good shade and it was positioned in the transition of the forest and the beach, which was positive. "It seems like you've read a lot about surviving, but not practiced it, am I right?"
Jungkook just nodded. He was too sulky to take my compliment. What a child.
I sighed and sat down in the sand. I would have given Jungkook a lesson about how to build a proper campfire, but being the child he was, he had already trudged off to elsewhere. But instead of being angry at him, I swallowed my rage and started working on the campfire by myself. I gathered some rocks and built a proper one, without that much of an effort. Props to Jungkook though, for finding these all too dry sticks.
I then pushed the log out of the camp-area. A log to sit on was not one of our head priorities.
Jungkook was nowhere to be seen. After making a functional campfire, I decided to go look for him. To be honest, the forest was quite scary. It was very dark compared to the open beach, and who knew what might be lurking in the shadows. But I decided to face my fears and enter.
There was a small path leading deeper into the woods, and I figured that the animals of this island had made the path. The trees hung low and there was not much sound, except for some birds chirping and rustling in the grass every now and then. The sun was not able to penetrate the tree tops, so it was quite dark.
"Jungkook?!" I called out as I walked down the path. No answer. "JUNGKOOK!!?"
I had been walking in the woods for about 15 minutes and Jungkook was still missing. I had called out to him a few times without any luck. A lump had started to form in my throat. Where was he?! I wanted to go back to camp so bad, but I told myself that I needed to find Jungkook.
After another 10 minutes of walking I sat down on the ground and buried my face in my hands. Stupid Jungkook.. He could at least have told me where he was heading. Okay, one last try before I walk back. I inhaled and called out to him.
"JUNGKOOK?!"
...
"Sulgi?!"
I whipped around, only to be met with the one and only. Jungkook. But he was not alone. On his back, he was carrying an unconscious man whom I recognized from the plane. I quickly stood up and approached them. I was angry, but I didn't have time to fight with Jungkook now, we needed to help the man, maybe he was hurt?
"Is he hurt?!" I asked while coming closer. I couldn't see very well because it was getting dark very fast now. But I did notice that Jungkook seemed quite shaken up. He nodded his head.
"Do you know the way back?!" He asked while desperately trying to catch his breath. I responded with a firm nod and started running in the right direction. Jungkook ran just as fast, with a limp person on his back. His muscles are no joke.
No words left my mouth as we ran back. Jungkook was clearly worried about the man on his back. He kept ushering me to run faster, but I was already running with all my might. When we finally got there, he carefully put down the man on the ground and looked at me with a panicked expression.
"I-I don't know what to do! He just passed out on me! I don't even know what's wrong!?" He spoke, very fast. His eyes pleaded for me to help. And I did.
After a quick check-up, I could confirm that he had passed out because of dehydration. But I could also tell that his right leg was either broken or sprained.
"Be careful, his leg is hurt." I warned him. He nodded and put the man in a better position. "He needs to drink, he passed out due to dehydration."
Jungkook quickly shoved his hands into his pockets and to my surprise, he had a bottle of water. I gave him a surprised expression, mixed with anger. He shrugged his shoulders.
"I found it when I found him. I did not hide it from you." He said and rolled his eyes, like he could read my mind. I scoffed and told him to hurry up. Jungkook did not hesitate to help the man to swallow all the water. My mouth got dry as I watched some of the water slip out of his mouth and disappear into the sand.
After some seconds, the man started coughing, his eyes opening slowly. Jungkook smiled wide.
"Yoongi hyung, are you okay?" Jungkook said as he grasped the "Yoongi's" shoulders and made him look at him. He coughed some more but eventually spoke up.
"We need to find the others. We're not alone on this island."
