Jekyll Antonov’s View

I shakily answered. "Well, sir, uh... What do I call you?"

The man at the far end of the room's table answered, "I am the director of all health and science in this country. Call me Mister H."

I had no time to argue. With the disease slowly spreading through the underground bunker, they'll all be zombies by the time I get back. "Well, Mister D, we have found, or to put that specifically, created a potential disease that could devastate the world."

Mister H was speechless. After a few seconds, he finally said, "Are you serious?" I knew he was holding a laugh.

"I'm not kidding, Mr. H. We need your help controlling this. Or at least alert China of this disease."

"Many people have reported things like this. What do we do to them? We laugh at them. Make them realize how stupid they are. Unless you give us evidence, we will not alert anyone about anything. You get that?"

"Well, sir, luckily I have pictures."

"We don't take jokes that easily, Doctor. One silly spot and you'll be banned from every house call you take. Forever."

"Fine." I raised my right hand and said,"I solemnly swear that none of these pictures are altered or changed in any way possible. Is that enough?"

"We have CCTVs all over the place, Antonov. If you lie to me, you'll die. On public eyes. National television. All over the w---"

"Okay, sir, okay. I get it. Well then, take a look."

The way I see it, when he looked at the monsters, he had a feeling of both shock and disgust."

“What is this? What have you done?”

I was speechless. I remember the underground testing facility. They were horrifying. They had white irises and toxic green pupils. They had a face of a certain sadness. Like my dog when it was put down. Puts me to tears everytime I hear his name. They had a droopy posture so severe that they looked like seniors everywhere. They had big green blotches on their body and had bruises where skin was. Their hair was almost gone. They had weird pus-filled bumps in their arms. I remember seeing Dr. Kipriyanov’s face when he first seen Four to Ten. He even spit his morning coffee at Seven’s glass chamber. Pretty funny at the time.

Mr. H said, shouting, “Stop daydreaming, Antonov! Answer me! WHAT DID YOU DO?” His fat(no offense, Mister H, if you’re reading my mind) face was now red. His ears were now flipping out of control. I don’t think my response will help now, but I said,

“We accidentally missed a nucleotide base and messed up the result of improving the memory of a person to a slow zombification process.” Damn, I’m in big trouble.

{“What the fuck did you do? YOU ALTERED THE WAY OF NATURE? Just for this fucking result? I know videogames set the stereotype for you Russians, but here, you just fucked straight up. No help from us. You know what? I will pass a form to suspend you. You, your crew, and Kipriyanov.”
