After what seemed like hours of working on my engineering project, I made it out of my office and to my car. I froze seconds before I stepped into the drivers seats due to a buzz from my phone.

Evan :
Hey! Since I don't have your number yet, I was just messaging you that I was going to go on a walk today and maybe head down to the park and look around. I wanted you to know just so you won't get worried when you get home and find me gone.

Me :
It's all good, Evan. I'm happy you told me, then I know where to go after my shower. See you soon boo!

Evan :
Boo? Is that my new nickname now?

Me :
You know it, boo.

Rolling my eyes, I smiled and chuckled. He was such a cute Canasian, I could never understand why someone would want to hurt him, not to mention think about it. What made it far more less understandable was how someone could get away with hurting him.

Evan has muscles. I mean damn that kid's grown up to be something. I hate seeing his mind so vulnerable to manipulation while his body, his strength, could defeat so many threats. Then, after seeing how hurt he was at his previous house, I couldn't bare to simply imagine what he had gone through.

I am more feminine than masculine (though I never directly stated I was female) and I can escape from many things, maybe worse than what he'd gone through. I despised who I made myself become, yet I loved being a seemingly girl who can manage life herself.

I quickly found myself pulling into my driveway. The front door was wide open, making the interior of my house exposed to possible threats. But that, right now, was not what I began to worry about. I was thinking more about if Evan was alright.

A shrill yet somewhat manly scream came from inside. "Ace, please, I'm begging! Please, you don't want to hurt me again!" I heard Evan beg from the inside. Immediately I entered, not caring if I was being followed. I rushed to where I heard the shouts and found Evan both knocked out and bleeding on the carpet of his room--the guest room.

I forced 'Ace' to spin around. Before he could say a word, I punched him on his right cheek. He slammed against the wall, creating a dent, and fell to the floor. Though in a matter of seconds he was back on his feet, continuously throwing punches at me. Each one I leaned back, a few nearly hitting me, skimming my skin.

"I'm not going to let you hurt him!" I shouted as I swung out at him, successfully managing to hit him. He once again flew against the wall, breaking the plaster, and fainting when he hit the ground on the other side.

Ignoring the now limp body, I hurried to Evan and picked him up, laying him on the bed. As I began to fix his wounds, he woke up. "C-Crystal?" He muttered, opening his eyes. "That's you, right?"

I hummed. "Of course it is, boo. It's me, Crystal. Ace can't hurt you anymore." I ran my fingers through his hair, smiling. "You're going to be okay, Evan. I promise with my life. A couple punches with golden knuckles knocked him out and will last a little while."

"He-He can't hurt me anymore, right?" He asked, his voice going up a couple pitches. Yawning, he closed his eyes and I knew I had to get in another sentence, so I whispered "as long as I'm here, he can't touch you."
