"so you just have to choose between green or blue."
"wha?"
"erotic expertise or embarrassed at contact."
"err."
"bad boy pirate or bad boy airman."
"what the hell are you going on about?" you finally asked getting confused especially by the sheer cat like gleam in Rebecca's eyes
"I thought that was obvious, choosing between Arthur or Alfred." Rebecca stated as if was completely obvious and cray-cray that you hadn't realized what she was talking about, even after she had "explained" herself you still weren't following
"what makes you think I would have the err .. sheer .... privilege. Of getting to choose one of those two?" you questioned, making sure to choose your words carefully. Because you were all too aware of how Rebecca, felt about the two brothers.
"oh sweetie, please tell ol' Becky here that you are just playing a joke on her. Because hon it's really not funny." Becky cooed, just the way she did when she was treating you with kid gloves, or you had somehow angered her by going against her gospel in life which could be summarized as "if those two brothers ask you out, you say yes no matter what". Something that she had never had the joy of experiencing it was an err touchy subject.
"nooo, though should I? Is something going on that I'm not aware of?"
"ha, when isn't there something going on that you aren't aware of."
"hey, hey not cool, even if it is true."
"okay then left me clarify this for you. For the last five months Arthur and Alfred have been romantically pursuing you, every single person knows about it." she clarified very animatedly and angry as if she was acting the part of an angry Italian, and doing a pretty believable job of it.
"really every single person?" you asked because the number of people she was mentioning seemed figurative at best. Did she mean every single person or just every single person you knew, though that number was still quite big, it was a little more believable though.
"that's what you hone in on, gahd I should've known that's what you would say. You know what how about for at least five minutes you try to stop being such a nerd." Rebecca fluffed her platinum blond hair and turned seductively in her pink jumper, which had to be annoying to go to the bathroom in. But she made her point she was not a nerd and this conversation was not in the nerd realm, but instead in her realm, stepping into boundaries that royally annoyed you.
"I'm not really sure if that's possible, but I'll try." Because if I don't you'll make me regret it, but of course that last part was internal she may look like a Barbie doll but she would mess you up if she should so choose.
"good, so as I was saying Arthur and Alfred are totally crushing on you, something that I want to ring you little neck for but you are my friend, so I won't."
"ho-kay comforting. But you must have realized by now that I don't know what you're getting on about."
"you don't have to get it just trust me I know these things." She proudly expounded
"ah of course you do."
"exactly, exactly and since you obviously don't believe me I'll call them here telling them that you are here just going on and on about them, and then you'll see that I'm telling the truth." She angrily pushed out of her chair pulling out her phone looking at you the whole time though you weren't sure what this was going to prove.
Ten minutes passed
"they sure are taking their time." Rebecca nervously glanced around expecting the doors to burst open
"because they aren't coming." You narrowed your eyes feeling a sense accomplishment, but though at that moment, just as the world seemed to work the doors burst open, which if it hadn't of been so disappointing might have been impressive walking straight off a movie screen.
(Something that might run a little like this ahem deep narrator voice "our heroes burst on the scene glaring at each other with pure hostility the thought why the hell is he here could practically be heard in the extras underpaid ears, for they were both here for the same reason a phone call from the person who could only be thought of as the antagonist to their love story, Rebecca Holiston "insert name here"s best friend the woman who seemed to take pure pleasure in getting to close for comfort to their love, and on definite purpose she knew what she was doing. But not today she would not win today taking "insert name here" home with her, today was their day to win, because "insert name here" had been talking about them she was finally getting interested in them. But who exactly would win, tune in next time." Ha I kid cliffhanger fear activated. Nah on we go)
"ha, ha. Oh I enjoy being right so very much." She then proceeded to act like she was smearing her winnings all over her. But why, and what winnings.
"yes congrats, I suppose." You muttered very disappointed that you had been wrong you were never going to live this, Rebecca had one more thing to hold over your head forever after. And what the hell were you supposed to do in a situation like this, it wasn't like you had prior knowledge of how to deal with two hot men supposedly crushing on you.
"soooo...." Rebecca began before she noticed you standing up
"what do you think you're doing?" she asked narrowing her eyes because even though she had asked the question it was most likely rhetorical, she knew you a bit too well.
"what doing, nothing at all." You shrugged slowly moving away from the table, glancing around to find an escape route.
"don't you dare (y/n)." Rebecca warned
"dare what, I'm not doing a thing." You chuckled taking slow steps backwards
"(y/n)" Rebecca glared a hint of steel in her voice. Which was terrifying obviously, but staying here at this moment to deal with this... situation, seemed quite a bit more terrifying.
"call me." you grinned before booking it to you escape route
Rebecca watched her idiotic best friend race out of the room, she knew she could chase after her but well she didn't run at all ever, it was far too sweaty of an activity. Besides she had to deal with the two blonds approaching her now.
"what, where did she go. Are you playing a joke on us?" Alfred asked glaring at her with unnecessary suspicion
"A joke, no one wants to see this "crush" end fruitfully more than me. No one wants to see her pick one of you two more than me, being her best friend and all."
"really and here I thought it was because you're a gossip." Alfred snipped
"be nice, Alfred we both know that Rebecca is a necessary ally to have in this fiasco." Arthur sighed
"exactly, I'll even help you. Because apparently before this moment she wasn't even aware you two had crushes on her, and her awareness of that is completely my fault."
"just great, great... is that a good thing?" Alfred asked
"could be." Arthur shrugged
"no, I doubt that really I do which is why I'm here offering my help to end this, hopefully today."
"all right and how do you plan on helping us."
"helping us.... No only one of you, I can't help both of you."
"that doesn't seem fair." Alfred pouted
"uh yes it does, one of you needs to give up right here, right now."
"......." Arthur
"........." Alfred
"or neither of you will get her." Rebecca promised
