Ladies and gents this is the moment you've waited for

P. T. Barnum sang to himself, not paying attention to the Economics class he was sitting in. He rested his head into his arms, floating in and out of consciousness.

Been searching in the dark, your sweat soaking through the floor

He smiled, picturing the next play. Picturing the audience below. Their cheers ringing out. "Barnum! Barnum! Barnum!"

"BARNUM!" Turns put it had been the teacher yelling his name. He shot up in his seat.

"Yes, Mr. Grant?" He tilted his head, giving a smirk.

"Get your head outta the clouds and pay attention to the lesson," Mr. Grant smacked his yardstick of P.T's desk.

"Sorry sir!" He exclaimed, jumping in his seat. The bell rang, causing students to hurriedly pack up and rush out the door.

"Hey Fattie!" A voice called out to the girl in front of P.T., Lettie. He was shoved aside and the person was pushing Lettie into the wall.

"Please, leave me alone," she cried out.

"Why won't you go out with me?" The person asking, pressing Lettie further into the wall.

"I don't want-" she was promptly cut off by a hand barely missing her face.

"WHY NOT," the person's voice rose, getting up in her face.

"Because I'm a lesbian," tears dripped down her face. Fingers slowly pressed into her skin.

"Hey!" P.T. yelled, walking towards them.

"What do you want, liar?" The person sneered, digging their fingers in more.

"Get the heck of her," P.T. demanded, pulling the person off.

"Am I really the person you wanna mess with, Barnum?" The person stalked off, and P.T. walked over to Lettie.

"Hey, don't listen to him," P.T. gave a side smile and patted her shoulder.

"I think you should go," Lettie wiped her tears.

"Ok," P.T. began to walk to his locker.

And buried in your bones, there's an ache that you can't ignore

She sang under her breath.

"Marvelous!" P.T. cheered, hearing her. She panicked, and ran off.

Taking your breath and stealing your mind

P.T. grinned, and tugged his bright red jacket over his navy blue shirt. He had an idea.
