we walked in the garden that day

the snow was falling

and it was cold

but even in the snow

i felt warm

you were holding my hand

and all the trees were covered in a blanket of snow

i remember how you found that one rose in the garden of white

and when you told me how beautiful it was

and i couldn't help but think how you were the most beautiful flower in the garden

when we walked through the snow

i couldn't help but smile when you held your hand out like a child

i wanted to protect that smile then

it was a smile so pure

i couldn't but feel my heart thaw

and so i remember

that day when the snow fell from that grey sky
