03| Strange Occurences

Flashback ~ Two Years Ago

A strange disfigured shadow had began to approach the coven of young witches intimidatingly fast, leaving them with hardly any time to finish the spell. Two black haired woman, one blonde, one brunette and one redhead all stood in the middle of the forest in a circle, holding hands.

Every one of them felt the fear that the 'thing' would catch up to them and slaughter everyone of them just like it had countlessly slaughtered their families. Amongst the coven of the five remaining witches was Maria.

She tried to stay strong, trying not to let her fear show as the youngest one was already scared as it is. Their chantings got louder; their power draining quickly as the spell neared closer to the end.

"I can't do this!" The blonde girl, Katie, cried out, blood oozing from her eyes and her nose. "I'm sorry."

"Do not let go!" The redhead, Samantha, ordered. She was determined to get rid of the creature for the safety of everyone, after all they were the ones responsible for releasing it into this world.

"Katie if you let go were all dead!" The brunette, Ota, called out. She was the youngest and the most terrified but she did not let her terror take over from the fact that she needed to restore natures balance before something bad happened. Little did they know it was already too late.

"If I don't let go, we're all dead anyway!" Katie argued. "Do our lives not matter? I won't sacrifice myself for this 'thing' to die. I'm sorry."

"Katie! If you let go, I will never forgive you!" The black haired girl, Tamara, shouted.

"You can hate me as much as you like but at least you can thank me in ten years time when you have kids and a family." Katie said, not fully thinking about the consequences as she tugged one hand out of Samantha's hand and finally pulling away from Ota's tight grip.

"Katie!" Tamara screeched, alerting the 'thing' of their whereabouts.

Within seconds the figure appeared, grabbing Katie by her ankles and dragging her away as she clawed at the ground desperately, screaming for help.

"Let's save Ota. If we perform a spell to send her away to a sort of prison world then maybe she can work her way out of it and defeat it." Maria spoke up for the first time in a while. The other two all nodded as Ota shook her head, tears threatening to fall.

"I won't go without you guys," Ota cried out however the others ignored her, beginning to chant the spell.

After a few second a bright light emerged in front of Ota, Maria reached out to push Ota in but it was too late. The 'thing' grabbed a hold of Ota and dragged her away as she screamed. The last three screamed in fear, Maria holding her mouth as she choked back a loud sob.

"Good luck." Tamara said, pushing Maria into the portal. As soon as Maria entered, the portal closed quickly in a blinding flash of light, whisking Maria away with it.
