They don't have to live together all the way up until they're teens. They can live together only up until they're 13 or something since they're getting older or because they each want to go separate ways. Your choice.
Sakura is abused by her parents and gets kicked out.
Naruto is running away from the villagers.
The Uchiha massacre just happened (meaning they're 6).
When Sasuke tells them about getting revenge, Sakura literally knocks some sense into by hitting him them going on in a speech about how he shouldn't do what Itachi wants him to do so he can prove to Itachi that he can be happy. She also tells him that "testing his power" couldn't have been the only reason he killed is whole family.
The three live together and train together.
A couple days later, Naruto finds out how teams are decided and that they don't let friends together unless impossible to achieve so he tells them they have to put up an act.
Naruto keeps in touch with Hinata more since he saved her so she starts to join them at lunch.
