Chapter 2

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. Grabbing my phone, I turned it off and slid out of bed. "Iyani" I yawned, "come on get up, time for school" she rolled over and looked up at me squinting her eyes. "I don't want to go', she whined. Rubbing my eyes, I sighed, "Yeah me either, come on get up and go get dressed" Iyani slowly slid out the bed and walked out my room, closing the door behind her. I'm surprised she didn't bring up me not being home last night, walking into my bathroom I turned on the shower and hopped in, still thinking about last night. Mostly about Linda, who would be going in a shed at two in the morning? There was a knock on the door as I was stepping out the shower, "Yes?" my mom peeked her head in, "Hurry up y'all got to leave". Pulling up my pants I nodded my head. "Alright" she leaves and closes the door. Today should be good, they announce the winner for class president, I hope I won.

Iyani and I started to walk to the bus stop. As we were walking, I saw Charlie and his mom walking out the house. "Hi, Charlie!" Iyani shouted, he looked up and smiled "Hey Iyani!" he said back with the same amount of enthusiasm. Rolling my eyes, I grabbed her hand and started to walk faster. "Why do you like him so much?" I asked, "He's nice to me, and we both like the same things" "That's is?" "Coloring and playing with dollies, his room as a lot of them. All of us play together" why is a grown man playing with dolls? "Oh, ok" When we made it to the bus stop he was just now pulling up. Iyani ran ahead of me to make it on the bus, "Have a good day, love you" "Love you too!" she shouted back as she stepped into the bus.

I waited on the corner for Iman to pull up, where the hell is she? I pulled out my phone to check the time. 8:28. As I did, a car pulled up next to me, when the window rolled down I seen that it was Iman. "How much?" She asked while laughing. "Fuck you," I said while getting into the car. "Where's Iyani?" she asked when pulling off. "She's on the bus already" Iman chuckled, "What's so funny?" "Nothing, I just remember when she was just born and now she's in Kindergarten" I couldn't help but smile, "I know, she has grown up so fast, it's ridiculous. I want her to just stop" "You weren't saying that when she was a baby," she said while looking at me, I smiled "That was different, she was annoying then" It got silent for a little while. A few minutes later she pulled up to the school. "Let's go"

"Work on all the odd questions, be done by the end of the period, if not it will be homework" I looked down at the page, of course, everything s in Spanish, ill just do it or homework. I pulled out my phone and stayed on it until the bell rung. When it did, I walked to my locker and put my stuff inside it, since it was time for lunch. "Hey boo" I turned around and seen Iman, "Hey" "Did you hear about Angel?" she asked, "No, what happened?" We started walking to the lunch room, "So, turns out her and Mr. Baker had a secret relationship going on, that's why she would always ask to speak with him after class" I couldn't help but shake my head "He's like in his 40s, she's seventeen. Why would they think it would work?" I asked, "I have no idea"

It was the end of the day an I was waiting for Iman, she's probably talking to her boyfriend, as I was waiting for her I seen the police walking out the school with some of Mr. Bakers things. I wonder if Angel Is going switch her story up and say he forced her, it happened before, girls do it a lot up here when they get caught. Like one day a girl named Sarah got caught having sex with a boy under the steps and said he raped her. No one believed it cause the cameras caught everything. I pulled out my phone and seen I had a text from Iman "I'm by the car". I started to walk to her car when I bumped into someone, I looked up and seen that it was my ex.
